"SO DROP ME A LINE AND LEARN ME SOMTHING"
How about learning what a caps lock key is?

Ropes are important because that is how the boat is able to tow you. Without it you would just sit in the water not going anywhere.

you may notice a small difference but IMO they are nice to have but not a necessity. don't get me wrong a good rope will help but i don't need to have the most expenive one around. i think that if you are to spend any money it should be on the handle. as for the whole theory behind the non stretch, i think it is just so that energy is not wasted during your cut because of the rope stretching

LMAO.. sorry bro i dont mean to laugh at your grammar or any thing..
ok, so when you do a progressive edge you pretty much jut let the boat pull you into the wake then about 5 ft from the wake you start to edge more and more progressively. The you pop off the wake. when you start to put more of an edge on the rope needs to not strech it needs to retain its tention to get the progressive edge.
How ever I disagree the rope is more important than the Handle IMO....

It just looks tangled to me. I agree with Dragon, the rope is more important than the handle.

how about you read the boards for awhile and realize that people here really arent little bitches. for the most part everyone here is really cool, so there is no need for the name calling. you screwed up your post, and if you had proof read your post you would have known your grammar sucked. not only that but what is the point of typing in all caps? dont call people bitches cuz you are too ignorant to proof read your posts. and the fact that you are calling people names online is "f*cking lame."
like dragon88 said when you take a progressive edge, you put load on the line. if you use a non stretch line the tension that you have built up (load) will pop you up and it will continue your vertical path that you initiated by jumping off of the wake. makes sense right?
if you use a rope that stretches, as you edge to build up tension, the rope will stretch. when you pop off of the wake the rope will not be under any tension, so it will pull back and release the tension that has been created by you cutting and jumping. this will pull you foreward and it will somewhat counteract the progressive cut.
i would get a non-stretch rope before you get a handle.
your welcome,
little bitch.

| STALEFISH79, What's F*ing lame is you not taking 5 minutes to cruise the board and taking notice of what everyone else is doing. CAPS LOCK is considered yelling. It's not a big deal......noobs do goofy stuff sometimes and that is OK....just don't come back and call names.

Yeah I did a lot of research on ropes and handles. I agree with buying rope before handle or both if you can afford it. Right now I am using "the old Ski rope." I just ordered a 70 ft Spectra mainline with three 5ft. take off sections and a nice spectra handle.
Got a pretty good deal on them...I am stoked about using them.

You can tell the difference between a stretchy rope and non-stretch by taking a small section of it (~1 in.) and push the weaves together. With a stretchy rope it will kind of bounce back to the original shape. With a nonstretch it will basically stay pooched out. Just my 2 cents.

I've got a signature Rainbow Brite rope. It's probably the worst thing you could possibly ever use. The handle is equally as lame. However, I've seen some people do some pretty sick stuff using it -
It really pissed me off because it's one less excuse I have for my shotty riding. Sorry for not adding anything profound or anything, if there is a 'take-home' message here, it's that IMO it's not that important relative to things like your wakeboard, bindings, and experience/proficiency.

i hope they give the south some love in the fall...
