As you may have read before I am EXTREMELY new to this, but I pick all this up pretty fast.

2nd day on my Hyperlite 09 with Focus and I decide I'm going to jump the wake. First try? I make it but I fall back on my ass and I'm down. 2nd jump was the same.

So on my THIRD attempt at jumping the wake (I've been out for maybe 15 minutes on the river today) I decide I'm not going to fall on my ass. Well, I landed to far the other way and my toes dug into the water and I faceplanted, BUT I came up to notice that My board was 20 ft away from me, my binding was still on, and my ankle was throbbing.

I BROKE MY ANKLE GUYS. MY BINDINGS ARE RIPPED TO HELL AND BACK AND I'VE HAD MY BOARD FOR MAYBE A WEEK. Major bummer...

I need to know a GOOD binding for a GOOD price. Help me out guys, one week into these things and I'm already in the hole $200... Thanks..

Call my friend Michael at trc Yachtsales 423 899 2628 ext 105 and tell him what your budget is. He'll hook you up. They have some left over liquid force and hyperlite gear.

Dude the board is fine. Just the metal clamp bent up, but I think everything else is fine. And I sure hope it's not broke. If it's purple in the morning then I guess we will know.

And thanks Chattwake, I'm gonna have to do that.

thats crazy, call the place u bought it from and tell them what happened, i wud gripe and see if they will give you a new pair or a big discount on a new pair cuz thats bs.. or even contact hyperlite directly..

stick ur ankle in some ice that will help take down the swelling it sucks but it will help it alot.. i have terrible ankles and ice them after everytime i roll them and it takes down the swelling.. leave it in there for 15 minutes.. its painful cuz its so cold but it works.. just get a bucket with cold water and add alot of ice..

This is why I use binding that let me slip out of them. They're snug but I slide out easily. I have yet to one in one out and I don't have to worry about stuff like this happening.

A guy at kawasaki told my buddy he makes his bindings tight and would rather rip his leg off then come out of them. This is BAD advise for a noob though as you will end up catching edges a lot until you get more experience.

What the Bubb Rubb... Lol Laughing Sorry I am just really amazed by how quick you can destroy yourself... Hope you get well soon btw. Get some CT bindings (Closed Toes) From hyperlite 400 bucks and you have good bindings.

As beginner I also always weared CT bindings of 400bucks and i guess theyve protected me against alot of injuries.

Your bindings are definitely still under warranty. What size foot do you have? I have a pair of m/L hyperlite Atlas bindings new in the box. They are 2008s but I got them as a warranty trade in last year from hyperlite but already had new bidings so I never even opened the box up. They are designed for high ankle support and were hyperlites best binding in 08. Retailed
at $360 and I'll get them out of the garage for $100 shipping included as long as you don't live in Hawaii or alaska or something lol. Right now they are just taking up much needed space (according to my dad) in my garage lol. Let me know and take your time without making any brash decisions while hiked up on pain meds lol. When I had my hand surgery last year (the hand is very sensitive...Many many extra nerves for touch) I ended up buying a lot of stuff online under the influence which seemed like a GREAT idea at the time Laughing.

Now I also have a pair of 09 soven bindings that are collecting dust as well. They are in perfect condition but I did wear them about 20x (which is not a lot) but they are broken in very nicely. These I would have to get rid of at more $ though but I'll definitely make a very very good deal. They are size 9-10 and also have great ankle support that is actually adjustable with the Velcro straps depending on how high or low you want it.

This is my completely unprofessional medical opinion, but..

I think they have this machine that shoots these things called x-rays through your ankle, thus producing an image of your skeletal structure among other things. Those usually know if it's broke and probably tend to get you on the road to recovery faster.

Hyperlite will replace bindings up to two years from the purchase date, and in all honesty, they will give you something for your trouble regardless. I've been happily tearing up HL bindings for years.
