looked at some boards today and the salesperson did not like the liquid force boards and suggested Ronix. They have a 139 package (Ronix Vault) with open toe boots for $349 - does this sound like a decent set-up and price.

I then asked if they had any leftovers and they have closed toe boots Ronix one for $200. He said they would sell the set-up for $100 more making the vault board with Ronix one boots for $449.

Would some opinons and thoughts

I am a beginner also

idk why he didnt like liquid force boards because they are very good boards.. ronix one boots are very good and thats a pretty cheap price if they are your size.. the vault is on the lower end of ronix boards.. but you can prolly find a ronix one board for 250 if you look around at craigslist, ebay, i think someone on here has one for sell.... and say 250 for one board and 200 for one boots ur at 450 and thats a heck of a set up... il see if i cant find the guy on here who is sellin his one board..

He just stated that he did not like them and pointed me towards the Ronix boards.

The boots are size 10 and my toe is at the very end but when I bend my knee it pulls away. He stated that that is how they should fit

+1 If a sales person did that to me I'd probably lose all respect for him. In the end it probably doesn't matter a ton what you get. You'll likely be happy with it if you have a price range that high Wink

Tell that saleshole that LF rules and me and Lyman said to SUCK ONE!

Mr. Green Mr. Green Mr. Green

Seriously though, it sounds as though he's just trying to move merchandise or maybe he's a D-Block fanboy. Laughing

Realistically, any reputable manufacturer is going to put out quality products. Its just a matter of personal preference. Nothing wrong with Ronix. Nothing wrong with Liquid Force either.

Sounds like he is unreasonably biased either against liquid force or for ronix. Take everything he is telling you with a large grain of salt.

I know personally I wouldn't want my toes at the very end of the bindings like that. When you land hard your toes will get pushed forward and get crunched. I like a bit of play in my boots, where they still feel snug but have some room for your toes on not-so-perfect landings.

b33nine, idk if he means right at the end like crunching up against them i think he means like the perfect size fit were ur toes barely graze the end of it... idk though.

cooperfly, did they fit ok? dont get them if ur toe was smashed up against the front because like B33nine said it will cause u alot of pain..

no, I wouldn't want my toes grazing the edges as I was standing in them normally either. I'd say, for me personally, that I want roughly 3/8" from where my toes stop to the end of the boot, otherwise I know I'll end up digging my toes into the front of the boot. Just my personal preference though.

I have a Ronix Vault and love it, i have only just got back into boarding after 5 years in the army and just wanted a good reliable board to do some W2W jumps and maybe try some inverts, but honestly everyone else is on the right track, at that price your going to get a board you'll like no matter what you get especially as a beginner cause you wouldn't know the difference anyway and a vault is probly gonna be easier to ride as a beginner cause of the cut on the toe and heelside edge, but you get some decent air with the three stage rocker also. but liquid force makes great boards as well as CWB and slingshot.

ahhh i see. i have always been told you want your feet just barley grazing the end when u first try them on, because there gunna stretch out some when u ride.. but i guess its all preference like u said..
