I was thinking about replacing the griptape on my wakeskate and was wondering if anyone has done this already or not?
I'm looking into picking up some custom skateboarding griptape and was wondering what to adhere it with etc. etc.
If anyone has done this or has any input please feel free...Thanks! _________________ la forme n'est pas prête encore. Un singe a mangé mon bagage. J'ai

Thanks Joseph S. But there is a minor detail about the griptape that is currently on the board
I did some research and figured out a good way of removing the old griptape...so now the question is what is a good adhesive to use on the new griptape. _________________ la forme n'est pas prête encore. Un singe a mangé mon bagage. J'ai

| Ummm, gripTAPE is sticky on one side, hence the tape part of the word. You just peel it off the backing paper & apply it, you don't need an adhesive to get it to stick. |

i realize that it is sticky on one side of the gripTAPE, BUT will that adhesive suffice on a wakeskate? I mean this is skateboard gripTAPE so i was just wondering if the adhesive that comes on it will survive in a wakeskate environment. _________________ la forme n'est pas prête encore. | As far as I know the griptapes are identical, they just come in bigger sheets for the wakeskate. |

good question Butta Seeka....why not? i mean why does someone sand their skate down to paint it? To personalize it...thats pretty much it. I actually am thinking about getting Camo griptape and just thought itd be cool to see a wakeskate with different griptape. people have done the new graphics on bottom...i figured id do something different. _________________ la forme n'est pas prête encore. Colored grip sucks for skateboarding, I'm sure it's not much better when it gets wet... _________________ things aren't that simple... |

| I agree with el, all the colored griptape I've used doesn't stick as well as regular grip. It looks darn cool, but it chips & peels super fast. |

You could spraypaint stencils, or you could cut simple designs into the griptape with a razor blade. One cool idea I've seen is somebody cut out the outline of a sticker into the grip on their skateboard and put the sticker in. There's also a topic on here that says how to do stencils. _________________ things aren't that simple... |

yea i did that to my 4-trac, i wanted the little cassette C logo on the grip tape so i amde a stencil and sprayed it on. it ended up being right were i keep my feet and it still looks like i just sprayed it on, so as long as u sapray a couple layers it should stay good for awhile _________________ "We forget in life that we are not human beings living a spritual experience, but spritual beings living a human experiance."
