And here from the stall a guy and his young daughter. The mom is out to lunch with them as well so to me bringing a little girl into the mens room to use the restroom is wrong, and it got even worse when I heard this...
"you go first daddy"
"woah daddy it's like a hose that squirts water"
"no sweetie, it's a little different than a hose"
"no daddy it's a fire hose if I squeeze on the balloons will it turn off"
"No! Do not touch the balloons or the fire hose!"
"but why daddy?"

and then I left, didn't want to hear anything else Laughing

what do you guys think about a dad bringing his daughter into the mens room? I have no problem if it just them at lunch but when the mom is there too, I think it is kind of rude.

I refused to take either of them in the men's room when they were too young. Further more if I had to go I would have gone by myself

i took my daughter in until she was about 4 and could go by herself. sure as hell never whipped out my firehose and balloons in front of her and had a chat about them.

Lop, yeah it seemed a little odd with him peeing right infront of her doesn't it? I don't have any sisters nor do I have a daughter but this can't be common practice.

I took/take my daughter's in the men's room until they were/are old enough to go themselves. I don't go with them there, but it seems to me that taking them to the men's room works out better than having them piss in their pants.

I have taken my daughter to the restroom with me, but if my wife is with me, I make her take her. Not really a big deal at all....

I have even pee'd in front of my daughter....I just don't make a big deal out of it. Everybody goes to the bathroom.

My oldest potty trained at around 2 to 2 1/2, so it was a good couple of years before she could go in by herself and be able to reach the sink, soap, etc.

Would you send your three year old son into a public restroom by himself? I wouldn't, so I'm definitely not sending my girls in by themselves.

I don't have a daughter yet, but I don't think I buy the idea that a girl is more likely to have sex because she is familiar with and not intimidated by a penis. I generally think that any kind of ignorance is usually not good.

Also, if I was out with my daughter, and she had to use the bathroom, I would take her into the men's bathroom. I wouldn't be thrilled about it, but I would. I haven't had to yet because Mom has always been with us, however.

cameraboy, I have no idea how she saw them or what was going on in the bathroom. This was just the audio that I heard. Who knows where she was standing. It was just one of the weirdest things I've ever heard, not just the part about balloons.

brew, if I have a daughter, I don't plan on having her see me nude if the situation can be avoided and I'm surely not going to take a leak right in front of her. Yeah I'm sure she will see a glimpse of my package but it won't be as direct as this guy. It was a completely abmormal situation.

churchy, did you ever see your mom naked when you were a kid. I surely didn't. Did I accidently walk in on her peeing before, i'm sure, but I never sat and watched her pee. It just seemed abnormal to me for the opposite sex parent to urinate right in front of his daughter when his wife was sitting at the table. And what if they walked out while I was peeing? There are no protectors at this particular chili's and with her new found curiosity of fire hoses, she probably would like to see if every guy has one. Now have I seen my dad naked, of course because it's my dad. You are right that I don't have any experience in the situation but i posted this for a little comedy on our boards. You don't need to take everything so freaking serious all the time. I'm sorry for being ignorant on bathroom etiquette with a dad and his daughter BUT I have a feeling one of those etiquette coaches that teach groups or individuals would certainly say this is not proper etiquette. So go right ahead and piss infront of your daughter as much as you want. I could care less Laughing

what about if you had a boy? I have a son who is a year and almost 9 months, and not only do I pee in front of him, in preparation for potty training I actually tell him what I"m doing it and how to do it. He watches, then he flushes the toilet for me.

My idea is that since there is nothing unnatural or shameful about taking a piss, and he's got a penis too, he should see and understand the routine of how a boy takes a leak, so he can do it himself when he grows into some bladder control.

brew, I just flipped through a few child psychology sites and they all said that when the child who is the opposite sex of the parent starts to asks questions or makes comments on the different "anatomy" it is time to stop being nude infront of your child. The age they all had were between the ages of 3-4. This girl sounded like she was at least 4 or a little older. They said you need to now tell the child that you have to close the door when you use the restroom. These weren't .org's but it was pretty much the same information on the first 4 sites I clicked on
