Wow..just wow! I work in the airline industry and this is just....weird.
European countries shut their airspace one after the other Thursday as a cloud of volcanic ash wafted over from Iceland and posed a danger to flights.
Here in sweden almost all airports have shut down.
All airspace are being shut down, and no one knows for how long. 8o
Just glad I don't have any plans on flying for the moment.

friend of mine was flying from Houston to England. They made Canada and turned around. Landed in Houston in time to hit rush hour traffic. she is not happy.

My dad and his wife had their flight cancelled, they should go out tomorrow, meanwhile their luggage is sitting in Pittsburgh...

I have some friends that were going abroad for this last month of school, and their flights were canceled too.

I was going to ask why they didn't just fly over the north pole.... then I looked at a globe and Iceland would be smack dab in the middle of that flight path Laughing

Really screwed up Coachella last weekend. 3+ bands had to cancel and several light crews couldn't make the journey. Phoenix's light technician couldn't make it out of Paris but the show came on. The show was great, it is phoenix after all, but no light show to speak of.
