LF response plate system

What ever happened to the response plate system? It looks like they only ran it for a year or two and then opted for a tooth adjustment system like most other boards. I personally really liked the response plate idea and really dislike the tooth system because it usually means really bulky and specific fasteners. Anyone know if the system had any problems? I felt like they had a good thing going.

It was heavy, and difficult to adjust. The new plates are light as a feather, and that damn air chassis bs should be gone by 2011 too.
