Are they loud enough to clearly reach the rider? My goal
is not to be the loudest guy on the lake but I want to hear
the music when I ride. I had a pair of fusion t series combos
that were not even close. The amp I have to power them
is a Rockford that pushes 250 Rms/ channel so I think
that is more than enough to properly push the 80's. From what
I've read and researched, WS seems the way to go.
Help is much appreciated!

With the right amp, you will hear a pair of pro 80's while you ride. I'm not sure about that rockford amp though....

If you added a 485 - so that you had a 3 some package, you'd be much better off. The horn in the 485's is much bigger and much louder than the horn in a pro 80.

Two 485's are sufficient as well. The only potential benefit of running two 485's is that you can run both speakers with either a two or four channel amp.

I don't have the room for 2 485's. To get
the threesome package I would have to remove
my light bar. The way my Bimini attaches,
placing them above the tower is not an option.

One pair of PRO 80's with that type of power is going to rock and you will hear them great when you ride. So no worries at all.

wetsounds1, While your here. I have the 3-some setup. I'm guessing you would recommend the SYN6 for that right?

I'll also be getting a new HU. What HU would you recommend? Needs to be Kenwood so I can hook my Sirius up to it. It doesn't have to be a marine one either, it is not where it can get wet.

tnr6rida,

SYN-6 is best option in terms of output and single amp solution. In 3 ch mode it will do 200x2 and 600x1 so perfect power across the board. You can always do a two amp system with SYN-2's etc...but SYN-6 is best option

As for head unit, if it has to be kenwood, check out the kmr-700U. Pretty cool, has a cubby hole for ipod to sit in and be safe and dry.
