im trying to stomp 3s at ski rixen in deerfield but cant seem to grab the handle. everytime i do the full rotation, but completely miss the handle pass and land back on my board, sinking. what are some tips to grab the handle? and should i try not passing the handle instead?

Hey man.
I've been riding at ski rixen a lot lately.
The trick to the 3 off of the kicker is waiting for the pop. Once you pop give a hard pull with your back hand (if heelside) and place right at your back, you're other hand will automatically come around and grab the handle. From then on it's just spotting the landing and riding away.

Make sure you keep the handle close and try to yank it in to the small of your back. That way it'll be waiting for your other hand to make the pass.

I'm not sure if it's similar to your problem but I used to just pull the handle instead of focusing on where I needed to put it for the pass and it would always get away from me.

Ya Kirggs I haven't been riding recently because of injury, but spring break is comin next week and I'll be there for a couple of all day sessions on the weekdays. And gnarshredd in pretty sure that's my main problem, I never focus on keepin the handle close to me so it's like gone before I start spinning haha.

This sort of contradicts what Gnarrshred said but I like to squat down a little bit coming into a jump and let my arms out a bit. Create some separation between the rope and my hips. Then when I start to pull the handle in the pull action is longer and smoother than just if I had the handle in close. I got this info from Shaun Murray's Detention 2012. Gnarrshred's idea will work, but I find letting the handle out and squatting a bit helps get me prepped for the pop and spin.
