| Whats up everyone. I'm pretty new to wakeboarding. I just started wakeboarding 2 years ago but don't really get to go out much each summer. Whenever I do go out I love every minute of it and it is the most relaxing thing for me. When I do get to go out I get much better each time. I have just gotten to the point where I am more balanced and able to kindof hop over the wake behind a Malibu Wakesetter VLX. This summer my goal is to be able to jumb wake to wake and maybe do some board grabs or 180s. Can anybody give me any advise to help me with this once I get back out on the water? |

Well with the huge ass wake yor boat is making it should be pretty damn easy for you to learn this quick and easy. Well for jumping wake to wake you need to be really confident jumping other wise you'll usually end up falling, but what you need to do is edge out to either your toe or heelside (I prefer heelside jumping) you need turn and come at the wake at a decent speed not super fast (Unless you want to completely clear the wale and land in the flats) so you land coming down the other side of the wake. Your knees need to be bent less than a 90 degree angle. once you reach the top of the wake straigten your legs and pop out of the water. keep the handle at your stomach or chest level. As for 180's edge in and pop just like before but once your in the air let go of the rope with the hand closest to the wake (if you ride goofy than do your oppisite hand). (you should spin FS first beacause it doesn't require a handle pass so it's a lot easier)then throw your hand out behind you and pull with the hand that is still on the handle pull it to the right (you'll spin to the left) oppistite if your goofy. _________________ I'd rather fail in originality than succeed in imitation.

I still say that you should get the book but in the mean time here is another site that was helpful too.
http://test.waketrix.com/
For the fastest progression later on, master the vids in order, don't just skip ahead to jumping.
However, here is the link to the heal side jump vid.
http://test.waketrix.com/view_clip.php?id=87
Something you will notice from any quality video or coach is breaking down the move you want to master into smaller individual components that you can master easier with less risk of a fall first. |
