hi everyone..

I've been wakeboarding for a season or two, and have always wakeboarded behind a mastercraft x30 which was amazing.. but now I will be wakeboarding behind my boyfriends boat which is a yamaha ar210.. I was wondering what the difference will be like between the two? we still have some time to go before it's warm enough to wakeboard out here, but I am just so curious to know the difference.. anyone?

I have heard that the Yamaha boats don't have a vary good wake. I'm not sure since I have never been behind on.

andrea450, It's going to be hard for us to give you any reliable input unless you post up a good pic of you in a bikini. Only then will we be able to ascertain how a different style wake will affect your riding. If, for instance, you happen to be one of those "top heavy" riders, then you may appreciate the fact that a jetboat wake will not be as abrupt as the wake produced by the trusty x30. If you're more of a "junk in the trunk" build, then, because of your low center of gravity, you will find that the jetboat wake is not giving you the pop that you're used to getting.

Further, the facial attributes at issue here need to be assessed. Should you happen to be have a "Gwenneth" look about you, the whole jetboat issue may become moot, as one of the local Temecula members here who has a Vdrive will likely take the initiative to steal you away from your current jetboat owning beau. If you have more of a, shall we say, 2am Waffle House appearance, you may be stuck with the jetboat, and need more in depth assistance.

...and yes, andrea, you will notice a big difference between a jet boat and a true inboard. It most likely will not keep as steady of a speed, the wake will most likely not be clean and/or existent. Jet boats ride high in the water, which is kind of the anti-point of wakeboarding, and the the prop as well as the hull shape of an inboard are conductive to wakeboarding. A jet boat will have more of a rounded out hull, and doesn't have a prop. Just my 2 cents.

My prediction: either your BF will be getting a new boat, or you will be getting a new BF.

kinda like the difference in dating a fat guy with a 2" c**k and a ripped stud with 8"...

lol this thead is halarious. but seriously it will be a huge down grade. pretty much one of the worst wakes ever. you will be very disappointed and frustrated. especially at your level were youve learned the basics and are really and the big progress point of a wake carear

You could always switch to tubing and rafting up in the party coves, getting drunk and taking your top off.
