Lightest board possible?

What is the lightest set-up that a 140lb rider can have? Unless it is a big difference, then Id rather not have the slingshot reflex.

You mean size? You should ride a 134-136 size wakeboard. Not sure why you need the lightest possible board.

you could ride a fly core lf board, like an S4 138 FLY, with Ronix Relik boots.

sorry to ba a little o.t. but about the FLY, is it a durable board considering it being a light-weight board?

Yeah a 134/136 would do you. I replied to your other post saying take a look at the new Ronix set-ups, for this year the boards are very low profile and light, and because the bindings are plateless, the weight of them is dramatically reduced.

My Hyperlite is a door compared to my new Ronix kit.

i have the slingshot recoil with ronix cells and love it. its way lighter than anything else on the boat.

hyperlite sub VI and ronix relik boots. that's what I have and it's super light probably as light as you can go.. the hyperlite sub VI weighs under 6 pounds hince the SUB 6. pretty sure it's the lightest board out or pretty close to it. but it's super strong to... It's a 600-800 dollar board but I bought mine for 250!! I found some more for around 350 and 400.. my ronix relik boots are super comfortable I got the 09 ones..

I think that while you don't want a board made of lead, there's a certain point where weight doesn't matter at all. I remember seeing that deck at SurfExpo and thinking how gimmicky it sounded, now that it's been out and you've ridden one for a bit, whaddya think?

(P.S. Relik boots are pretty comfortable)

well of course im glad i didnt pay full price lol i found a good deal on ebay.. its really light but very sturdy.. here is 2 videos on youtube explaining some about it.. just watch it, it explains it better than i could..

This year CWB offers a light weight deck, its called the DB9 and the 138 weighs 6 pounds. You will see a lot of CWB riders riding that board, it is a great shape and now is light as heck. Also they totally reworked their boots for 2010 and they weigh much less than before. Definitely one of the lightest setups you can find.

if your asking me if i would pay 700 on a board? then no way but i wudnt pay 700 even if the board cud do its own flips lol but i found this board alot for 300-400 bucks. so its not much more than what you would say over a "regular good board that has good pop and features" i love it. it seems like i have alot more confiedence (sp?) in it than other boards.. i mean why would you want to pay say 250 for a pretty good board and say 200-250 for good quality closed toe boots when your going to be ok with the board but not as happy or spend just a little extra and get a board that you love and have full confiedence in... thats the way i feel.. i feel if im going to buy a board i want it to be exactly what i want in a board and looks.. why spend 200 or 250 on a board if you kinda like it why not get another 50 or 100 and be completley satisfied.. but i wouldnt have bought it, if it was 700 because thats just out of my range.. but you dont have to pay that much anymore there all over the place for 500 new in stores and for 300-400 on ebay new.. so its not a huge price over other really good quality boards..

im lookin for a board and bindings package i can get for 400- 500 that ways about 6-7 pounds, and one that is 135-137. my hyperlite primier board and remix bindings weigh about 16 pounds together and thats a ton for a 5'7 14 year old like me.

Sorry young fella but weight really doesn't have that much effect on your riding. I'm twice your age but about your size (5'8" and 150) and ride a regular foam core board. In no way does my riding get diminished by riding a foam board, I have some good spins and am starting to try 7s. Another thing, these light weight boards can feel flighty in the air and in my experience don't land as soft as regular core boards. You will notice that a lot of the best riders in the world ride regular foam core boards.

If you suck (as you say) the best thing you can do is get a board that suits your style. Beyond that, get strong and ride with people that are better than you, progression will follow!

well i dont really suck anymore but the biggest spin i have is a 3, and i want to work on flips like tantrums because i have a ttrampoline and i know how to flip easily. ive seen people with these lightwieht boards and it looks like they land fine.

i really like my hyperlite sub VI but everyone has opinions.. look at the new ronix boards.. there sick and really good boards.. what brand do you really want? hyperlite, liquid force, ronix??? closed toes, open toes?? its really up to you because there is so many options of stuff you could get for 400-500 bucks...

i dont really care about brand, but a board that will work well with a small wake and good pop. closed toe bindings, ma feet get cold in the 80 degree water in florida haha

well here is a hyperlite sub VI for 430 bucks.. but they will take 375 i asked them a while ago.. its brand new and a factory first board.. also the one under it is a liquid force s4 board.. its 314 bucks new..

I picked up a 09 Company Recruit with 09 Ronix cell bindings and this setup is as light as I've seen. I had an 08 Ronix Covin with 08 Ronix Cell bindings and my new setup is quite a bit lighter (I think I measured about 1.5lbs with a fish scale).
