Looking to get a used boat mainly just for entertainment with occasional wakeboarding, basically looking for a nice bow rider that is capable enough for wakeboarding.

We have a place at Lake Tahoe and the boat will be staying the summers up there, used mainly on the weekends.

Any thoughts on a Reinell 185LS? There is one in the area here a 2008 with very low hours for $13k. Would that be a little heftier than say a bayliner 185?

We will likely throw a universal tower on whatever we get. How about Four Winns, sea ray? Any other decent manufacturers to consider? Looking to spend under $15k

Also, anything special we should do for high altitude?

Thanks

I owned a 94 Four Winns Horizon 180. Excelent boat! Built great.
So if you want to go with a bow rider look I recommend looking at Four Winns also.
Good luck on your search.

You are at 14500 with the tower. With a little searching you could get an inboard.
You will be muuuuuuch happier in the long run.

For high altitude, get the biggest engine you can afford and then plan on propping it down in pitch to compensate. I wouldn't get a V6 in anything over 17-18', over 4000'elev.
Rough rule of thumb, you lose 3% hp for every 1000' up in elevation on a naturally aspirated engine, more if it isn't tuned correcty for the alt.
