|
|
Just bought a new light and speaker bar and I'm not real sure how to wire it up. There were lights at one point by a previous owner cause it pre-wired but I don't want to fry anything. I've included some pics and hopefully they might be of some help. Also, with the speakers, is it easier to wire them in a series with the existing speaker wire or do I need to run more wire from the amp??? Thanks for any help. |

Dont hook anything up to the sterio! Find the wires that are going to be used for the lights and hook them up first or put a terminal on the ends of them so that you dont hook it up to a speaker. |

I guess I didn't write it clearer. I am asking two seperate questions. I have the speaker wire and light wire's seperated and really am just not sure how to hook up the lights. The speakers are hooked up but I wasn't sure if wireing them in a series is better or all four to the amp. |

Im no expert but i've looked into this a little bit.
In a car set-up, all the speakers get their own pair of wires from the deck or the amp, I would plan on Doing it that way. So if you have two speakers going in, run two wires to each, right and left. if its four, you could split the pair before you get to the speakers.
Edit -Sorry i couldn't see the photos till now.
on DIYwake.com there's a link for a wiring diagram that shows how to wire up their light bars. you could start there.
