I have a 1985 Sea ray seville 5.6 bowrider and the engine is a 140hp merc cruiser inboard outboard motor. I am just wondering what all I can do or ad to the boat to make it have a bigger wake behind the boat and be more like a wakeboarding boat? If it would make the wake bigger by adding a different engine to the boat, what is a reasonably priced engine I should buy?
I was looking into putting a cd player and speakers into my boat, is there a special type of marine cd player I need to install or can it be a simple car cd player, if so does any suggest a brand and model? Does anyone have suggestions on brands and models of speakers as well? Is it possible to put subwoofers in a boat, if so what are some good make and models, as well as amps? I need some advice here.

kentv, Just judging by your questions you should take some time and do some searches on the site. Just use the search button and type things like stereo, or speakers. Then take the time to read through the How to improve your I/O thread. It is like 7 pages dedicated to the questions your asking. You'll learn so much just by reading through old threads. Welcome to the forum Very Happy

outboards, and inboard/outboard boats are really not the best for wake. You will notice that most wakeboard boats have the prop almost directly center of the boat, or maybe 3/4th the way back. This keeps even weight distribution when the boat accelerates, preventing the boat from lifting its nose, and therefore larger wake (at least as far as i understand). Yes you can put subs in a boat, but they have to be absolutely sealed, and should be fiberglassed for an enclosure. Key for a boat is to have everything safe, no exposed wires, etc. I highly recommend doing what dbismyname said. I've been here for a year now I think? and I have such a low post count because most of my questions are answered by the search function Smile

As for getting a bigger wake, you can add some fat sacs just like any wake boat. Here is a link to perfomance ski and surfs website. Buy a couple sacs and a pump and load your boat down. I don't think two sacs would be bad at all for your boat and will make a huge improvement with your wake. Throw one in the front and one in the back. The key with weighting down a boat is even distribution of weight. People that are first experimenting with fat sacs think all the weight needs to be in the back but really the goal is to sink the boat evenly. That will give you the biggest wake, and let you get on plane. I really don't know how much weight 140hp boat can handle but I would imagine you would be able to handle a sac or 2. Here is the link.. If you have any questions about which sac would be good, feel free to ask.
