im looking at wakeboarding for my first time, since im buying my first boat.
Boat is either a
Wellcraft 232 Eclipse BR with a 5.7
or
Sea Ray 195 BR with a 4.3

not sure which one im choosing yet, but money is an issue, so who ever want to give me a better deal on the boat after they have both been surveyed will be my boat.

I know the 5.7 would be great, but hey like i said, its who i get the better price from.

So my issue is,
Should i buy a new wakeboard and all new stuff.
or
Should i get a used wakeboard package and test it all out and see if im al about it, im thinking either way im going to like.
Question is what size board do i get, im 5'11 and weight around 185-190
Ive seen a ton of different sizing charts and they all range differently..so what do you guys think is a good size for me.

btw.
if you have a used set-up you think woudl be good for me, please do P/M me, thanks people, cant wait to get out on the water...

pick up some closeout deals from evogear.com, grizzly-sports etc.
they got some good deals on 08 and 09 stuff

anything the right size will work for beginer. no need to get fancy or expensive

i would recomend a 138 to 140 board

Is there a local shop near you that can demo you some gear to test/try? If you're new, I'd recommend trying out some gear before you end up buying something you're going to hate. How about friends? Can you use their gear a few times to check lengths, styles, etc?

I wouldnt reccomend getting a package because usually they put crappy bindings on a decent board. Like mentioned you can get good deals on last years equipment. 5'11 id reccomend a 140, the bigger board will be more stable for a beginner and your kind of tall atleast for this sport any way so it will allow you to ride a wider stance.

Well if you don't mind spending alot of money I would definentely recommend a Ronix board I love them they're my favorite wakeboard company.

My set up at the moment is the Ronix '09 Mana with '09 Cell boots.

But another set up I like is the '10 Viva with '10 Cell boots

Or the '10 Ibex with '10 Relik boots

trust me every penny is worth it on these boards they have the best control, pop, and are the lightest out of every board I've ever ridden.
