LMAO SCBrips Nice.
I like the Ibex so far, it's just really, really huge. The One is a little bit slow like the 08 was so that rules it out for me. Have yet to try a Viva or Bill. If I get some extra money in the next couple of months I'll buy the Bill board...I liked the 08 a lot. Tough call on the "best" board though. |

If you can't wake to wake on the Shane it's probably not going to happen with the Ibex, One, or any other board for that matter...
Today, any board will "jump high" with the right form and technique. The only reason someone should choose an Ibex over a One board (or any board over another) is because they prefer the features and ride characteristics. Rather, it's their personal preference to ride the Ibex over something else. _________________ Wake Forest University |

But i Only wakeboarded 3 times and the next time i can definitely do wake to wake. But my friend who's got the shane bonifay 2009 says that his board is a bit slow and a little bit to big for me. _________________ Jim-curacao |

| jim-curacao, for one, if you're only ridden three times, you don't even need an Ibex. It's a more advanced board and seeing that you ride behind a Boston Whaler, you'll progress on just about any board. Don't worry about jumping high, it's not the board that makes you do it. Work on progressing and getting your basic riding skills down and when you can jump consistent wake to wake heelside and toeside, are doing basic 180's, various grabs and such, then you can switch to whatever board you want that has the features you want so that your riding is more comfortable and you can continue to progress. You obviously know nothing, so you won't know what riding characteristics of a board you will like. Just go online and a find an 08 or 09 board that you think you will like (doesn't need to be a high end board to like) and develop your skills, then move on up. |

holdsworth, great advice. it took me 3 years of riding a 2002 cwb obsolute 141 before i upgraded to a 2010 ss recoil. when you are just starting out it doesnt matter WHAT you ride. it is THAT you ride. that is unless you are one of the people who dont care about any thing but having the best board and equipment, (like my brother who comes out 1-2 times a year, and always buys new boards but sucks ass) than you would be screwed and would be better off hanging it all on the wall. any ways good luck jim-curacao. _________________ trying to find a $5-7K usable saltare if anyone knows of one. |

well if you want an Ibex so bad then get one.. It certainly won't hold you back.. but for 200 dollars or even more less, you could get a complete 08 or 09 setup thats dope.. _________________ Wake Forest University |

Had to hahaha
jim-curacao, still means nothing. A V-ride wake isn't really all that impressive so any board will still work, especially with inexperience. Try something like the 08/09 Ronix Arcade by Bill...that's an awesome board and I loved mine before I snapped it (no, it doesn't snap easy, I just ride hard). I'll be getting a 2010 at some point this summer when I have some extra cash. They're cheap now since the 2010's are out and it's a solid board for any skill level. There's also a huge line by Hyperlite and some more by Ronix that are awesome. Liquid Force has nice stuff, CWB, Slingshot if you want a snowboard-feeling board (flex). Search options...don't choose the most experienced board on the market to look like to know what you're doing. If that's the reason you like it, people will make fun of you behind your back for having "all the cool stuff" and sucking. Find something cheap that you can progress on. |
