Currently I have 2 amps in my boat. I have one for the tower speakers alone. And the other one is 2,000 watts and that is for the in boat speakers and 2 subs. I have the 2 subs on one channel and the inboat speakers on the other channels. I would like to find a cd player with 2 outputs and a sub output. My current cd player only has 1 output and a sub output. Any sugestions on which way to go? |

Clarion Makes some great marine grade headunits.
I have a CMD4 and love it... I am using all 3 pairs of output.
But they newer model CMD6 is awesome for what you are looking for plus has a remote.
Both of these are Double DIN size. _________________ Always looking for others who ride on Norris Lake in TN

Kenwood is best bang for your buck. If you have the dough, I would go alpine. |

I love Alpine stuff, never tried their Marine audio though.
However, I know a few guys with Moombas and Kenwood headunits and had previously had a Kenwood in one of my cars. Not so great systems. Mainly remote issues, the CD seems to skip in rough water more so than other boats, and well... sometime you really get what you pay for. _________________ Always looking for others who ride on Norris Lake in TN

Using a CMD4 as well with a remote on the swim deck. Not the best unit I've ever owned, but WAY better than a lot of decks I've had. Also using all 3 pairs of output as well as the AUX in for an iPod plug. Works out great. _________________

It's not the greatest stuff, but for 175$ a kenwood headunit will have more preouts, more watts per channel, a remote, usb and aux connection, and have alot of settings. If you can fork up the extra 150$+, definitely go alpine.
The newer kenwood stuff has gotten better, I have no idea what years you were talking about but the past two years of kenwoods headunit has given alot of bang for the buck. |

2007 GG Moomba
2009 XLV
Both have had stereo issues with the source units. _________________ Always looking for others who ride on Norris Lake in TN

Alpine CDA-9886M, or the 9886 if marine grade isn't an issue. It has 3 preouts like you want, and they're 4 volt, so it's a much cleaner signal. Alpine's have the best iPod controls, and very easy to operate. Yes, they're more expensive, but you get what you pay for.
FWIW, I'm a dealer for Clarion and Pioneer and really haven't been impressed with any of them lately. Haven't liked Kenwood since the 90's. |

I don't know much about decks, but I just bought the Alpine iDA-X100M, not installed yet. Anyone know anything about this deck? _________________ Check out https://www.facebook.com/darcizzleoffshore |
