So we started with a Trip with crappy Domain bindings, then I bought a SS with some Drivers. My buddy rode my SS all of last season but is thinking he would like to ride the Trip more if he had some better bindings. Also his little bro rides the Trip and the Domains really just suck.

So we're lookin at closeout bindings. Not tryin to spend 250 also two people riding the board.

Here's what I've found
08 Zeus CT 11-12 $119
08 LF Watson 11-12 $116
08 Byerly CT 10 $137
08Murray CT 11 $129
08 Ronix One CT 11 $132

Any input on these specific year models of these bindings? Such as really loose, really stiff, eyelets ripped out, stitching tore, any sort of feedback would be great. Or if you know of another deal out there for some good bindings. Thanks in advance.

check out boardstop, they have some good deals on last years bindings plus free shipping.

also checkout evogear, they have 25% off there outlet prices right now until the 16th, checkout code: sweet
they have free shipping

i just picked up a 09 LF Watson 138 board for $175 shipped to my door.

on a side note, do yourself a favor, go with ronix bindings.
ive been mostly riding LF for the last 3 years but tried a few others as well. and recently last week i finally tried and bought my first set of ronix bindings(09 Reliks). for everyone thats been saying they are light years ahead in fit, feedback, and weight. they were right. unbelievable difference. do yourself a favor, and at LEAST try on a pair if possible before you buy any brand.
there are some REALLY good deals on 09 ones out there.

we don't have anywhere local to demo bindings. This side of Tenn is not exactly wake central. I've looked at Ronix but there is definitely not any 09 Ronix One's in the price range. The 08's are on my list up there. What LF did you go from to the Ones that made such a difference?

yeah i had to drive to 2 different shops. 1.5 and 3 hours away to try some on.
yeah i think the 09 ones are about $238 i think allitle higher than the ones you posted i think Embarassed

i went from 08 Shane CT to 09 Ronix Reliks.
the biggest difference was fit. and in close second was the ronix dont have that effing 2" of foam under your feet. i lost all board feeling/water feedback when i went to those shanes. zero "feel"
although i think the 08 reliks have the same thick foam bottom. the 09s are right on the board deck. also SUPER light. i think they quote 1/3 lighter and lower from the 08s to the 09s.

maybe grab your boys, and take a road trip some weekend to a board shop?

one thing to keep in mind. (i ran into this with the new ronix bindings)

is that 08 to 09 they changed the industry standard binding bolt spacing from 7 or 8" to 6". so my 6" new ronix wouldnt get wide enough on a 138 board. i could only get a 19.5" wide stance at the heels. i typically ride at 22" (not gangster at all) im 5'-10"
something to think about.

I have the '08 Murray CT's rode them for 3/4 of a long season(2nd week of Nov.). I've probably got around 35-40 days of riding in on them and they still look brand new. When I got them they were a touch tight so I took out the insole pads and they were perfect.

I also ditched the stiffener plates on the sides, so they are super flexible. At the same time very supportive, and my feet feel very locked in. Practically no heel lift what so ever, and the response is amazing. It's almost like my feet are part of the board. Mine are 13's and one of my buddies that wears 11's rides in them, crashes a lot and has never came out of 'em. Very easy to get in and out of with a wide opening.

A few down sides since nothing is ever perfect. They come up on your leg very high, some might find that uncomfortable. The lace locks suck like all HL bindings, not a very good design. They do loosen up a bit on hard diggers, but never while riding. The velcro straps really don't do anything except I use them to tuck the laces under.

For 129 those are a steal. I wouldn't trade mine for anything Wink I don't have any experience with any of those other bindings so that's just my .02 worth on the ones I have.

P.S. Oh yeah and they look SICK on my '09 Premier

I've ridden the Zeus, Murray and Byerly.

Personally I wouldn't buy a Hyperlite boot prior to 2009 and especially not a 2008. Unfortunately it was the worst year for Hype boots. I felt the Murray had decent support but felt sloppy on your foot, just not very comfortable.

The Zeus in 08 was awesome. Nice high wrap, incredibly comfortable and absolutely bombproof. I've still got mine and have had them since they first came out. Tons of rides and they still function like new. I'd highly recommend them.

Awesome feedback guys. Looks like the zeus is gonna be a great option cause his bro has bigger feet and I think the hingetech will be great for him getting in and out. So will I be able to get an adapter for these 6" plates to mount up to an 8" board??

well the 08 ronik relics work on a 8" board??? or are the 08 and 09 relics the same spacing??

im pretty sure im looking for open toe, water is warm where ill be at, and i m sure ill have a few friends want to jump on to try it out, after this season ill look for something closed toe. unless the relics uptop are a steal of a deal.

yes, and no to answer your question respectivly

08 reliks are 8", 09 are 6"

for your first season, and getting freinds hooked, open toe would also work just fine.

I've got 08 ronix one's and love them. I'm sure the new ones are even better but i still prefer the look of my older bindings. The new ones look so small with the baseless technology, I kinda like how mine look like snowboard boots compared to how small the new ones seem.

but as far as sharing bindings goes might pose a problem.. Molded high end bindings really should only be used by one person.

STANG KILLA SS, any pics of the new setup? I bet it looks dope

So he ended up going with the Zeus's and got them this past Friday. I tried them on Sat and can only say wow. Coming from SS Drivers which lock you down tight, these Zeus's are insane when you clamp the hinge. It locks down your heel in a way I've never felt in a binding. Also TONS of arch support. The footbed is just really crazy feeling. I think these were a good buy for sure.
