Hey guys! So this is the deal, last sunday (not yesterday but last weeks), y was boarding in a friends new x45, and we got excited and filled the ballasts the whole way to get the nicest wake we could, and well, I just started waking about 10 months ago, and con pull just 180s and grabs (i'm a noob haha). So we had the new boat and a new camera and we were all stoked up and decided to throw some nice big grabs w2w and then decided to throw a big w2w on this big wake that was new to me, I had never gotten so much air, and the trick went beautifully till I landed it and my kneecap came out completely and then came right back in, it has to be one of the most painful things that i have experienced, and I have gone through pretty rough things..I flew in yesterday to Miami to see Dr, Kalbac who is a specialist in these injuries and he told me I had a torn ACL so he operated me this morning...I've always done extreme sports, paintball, motoX, snowboard, wake, skate, etc etc...So my question is; Has anyone here had a torn ACL, and how long till you started boarding again? I know this won't be a permanent injury (according to the doc) but i'm just nervous, I don't wanna feel limited to where I can get to on my board. Any answers much appreciated, also feel free to write your injury stories!!

Sorry if long, I'm still dozed out by the sedative haha

no ortho will operate on a torn ACL one week later... You have to wait for the inflammation to go down... just sayin....

yeah, not exactly sure what happened with you, but if its a torn acl, itll be a few weeks to operate, and then a few months to get back on your feet with rehab, depending on how bad the tear was and is... be safe and get better....take your time and heal right.

When I tore my acl my doctor originally told me it would be a couple of weeks before I had surgery due to the swelling....however.... once he saw my MRI he reccomended that we do the surgery the next day because of the damage.... so I guess it all depends
