(4.3L mercruiser vortec) what do I need to push the amp, just an extra battery, please help? thanks |

i have installed lots of car steros and i have a 600 watt amp in my truck..so i think it should handle the power of the 400 watt amp the only way to find out is give it a try |

| alt should be fine, i would think about adding a second battery to be safe though. i have two in my boat, one is for the stereo and lights the other is for starting the boat |

| thanks guys, I'm going to add a second battery and hooking up the amp to my existing 6/9s and the 6 1/2s...... and then I'll go from there, I'm not sure if a 4 channel 300w amp will push the 12 like it should..... and I've only got room for one......not wanting to spend too much money also...... |

| I am in the same situation that you are. Do you think a capacitor would work instead of getting another battery? |

unless you are pushing a lot of watts there is no need. the only reason that i have ever used a capacitor is in cars when the draw is so much that it makes the headlights flash with the bass line. _________________ I once saw a fork lift pick up a pallet of forks, it was way too literal for me. |
