Went to the pro shop yesterday to pick one up, they showed 10 of the "Sintered" base, but when I got there they had sold the only one they had couple days ago. I know that Ronix states this will be a limited run with the Sintered base. So they shop guy looked on their order and he has 1 coming in on the next order! Put a deposit down now I cannot wait for summer! _________________ Whenever I see an $80,000 Wakesetter pulling a tuber, I die a little inside. |

I am also looking very close at the Ronix Viva this year. It's either a Viva 140 or the Company Recruit 139, I just can't decide. I've had a covin for a few years but there sure is a lot of hype surrounding the flex boards.
Has anyone ridden these two different boards so they can offer some insight on the differences? I know there is the difference of flex but i'm more concerned with landings and a decently fast board.
Thx. _________________ 2010 Watson Hybrid

| The sintered base is made for the cable parks and the rails. They even come with the slider fins. The viva is the fastest board Ronix makes. I have not personaly rode the board but the ronix rep told me he loved it. Plenty of speed! I would deff go for the viva lev but I have always rode ronix So that is just me! I went with the 2010 Bill with Frank bindings this year just to be diffrent... They made some sick boards this year! |

| I have had a Viva now for about 5 weeks. This board is the bomb. I have had a heap of boards over the years and this by far the easiest to ride despite it being the fastest in the Ronix line. Super soft pillow landings. Ive got way dodgy knee and my knees have actually been way better since using this board. Highly recommended. |

I snapped my covin(which i absolutely loved) and RONIX sent me the Viva - nothing like the covin whatsoever. The viva is very loose, and breaks off edge immediately. Still quick like the Covin -but does not hold anything like it. 2 totally different boards if you ask me. If you like that loose feel - then youll like it. Lots of pop, and soft landings - just alot looser than the Covin.
Anyone got an old covin 139???? |

migs, I was looking at the Viva (I have an 07 Covin now which I took on a shallow river and rails last year so I've earned a new ride), but ended up going with the Company Recruit. I like how the Covin holds such a good edge so I guess it's probably a good thing I didn't go to the Viva. _________________ 2010 Watson Hybrid

I have a few questions about the covin.
How much pop does it have? Is it more out then up?
How soft are the landings?
Ive heard its not very durable. Is this true?
I am looking to upgrade from my hyperlite state(it was my first board) so compare to it. I definately need a board thats wayyy better then what i have right now. Would the covin be a good alternative?
thanks |
