Closed toe is actually quite amazing. I switched to CT in 07 and haven't looked back since. As NKCrider said, it's preference, but the CT seem to be more comfortable.

i've rode both.....and went back to open. I don't really have any beef against closed just really like the open toe bindings I'm riding at the moment.

I've sworn by CT bindings since I got my '06 Shanes. Currently riding '08 Cabs.

But since Lyman insists that the '10 Ultras are the "sickest bindings" out there I might have to at least give them a try. Cool

I went from open to closed and like them way better. Part of that maybe because my ot's were low end (HL state) where my ct's are high end (murray's) I just feel a lot more locked in, and secure in a ct.

I've got two set-ups one LF with an open toe and a Slingshot with CT - I feel that I'm a bit better locked in on the CT and feel there's a bit more control with the CT
Also in the colder temps the CT keeps me warmer..

spending a couple extra bucks on the boots is totally worth it...

I've rode with both CT and OT bindings. I like the CT more. They are more comfortable and more responsive than OT. I was very skeptical when I was considering the switch to CT but I'm sooo glad I did it. I also think they give you a lot more ancle support than OT. Thats just my 2 cents.

Another CT here as well. Watsons 09. Will never ride an OT again. Much more feel and control and as stated before feel locked in. You feel more at one with the board....

I thought the closed-toe was a gimmick when they first started showing up. I resisted them for a while, then I tried a pair on and didn't look back. If you get a good fit, you almost feel like your feet are a part of the board itself.

I prefer OT to CT but have been riding CT bindings lately because they've only been making the nicer setups CT. Very stoked to see LF bring back to Ultra and leave it OT.

Ct almost all year long. Ot only those hot summer days, when you really need some fresh water running through your toes
