I've been riding for maybe 5-6 weekends and I ride a 139 hyperlite pulse. I'm 6'1 and about 175-180lbs. Is this the right size and style of board for me?I plan on riding a lot more so I'd like to know where I should start.

That board is a good size for you. Start with your basics and get good at riding before you start trying to advance to a bunch of tricks. Do yourself a favor and get a wakeboard instructional DVD. Check out the Book Box set or Detention 2012 to help you with your basics and into more advanced tricks.

Also get a private lesson from a wakeboard coach so they can give you some pointers and proper technique.

Should I try taking the fins off now or wait till I've got more experience?

I would ride with the fins. You really just need more water time.. Keep riding.

x2 on the Detention 2012...it can be cheesy but there's really good info. I really hope shaun doesn't come on here and see that haha
