i think this thing would be badass if they went back to the 05 front end. i would still love to have one though. wat do yall think?

Ford ran away with the SEMA spotlight last year with its hardcore 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor off-road truck, and when it did, GM sat up and took notice. This year, Chevrolet has fired back with the Silverado ZR2 Concept -- a trail-ready, 550-hp monster aimed straight at the Raptor.

I like the new front ends on the Chevy/GMC trucks. The colors on this one? Not so much. I'd like it more if it was all one color. Is it a four wheel drive? If not I'll pass on it as well.

EDIT: I don't think those pictures(concept drawings?) do a good job. You should have posted these ones.

The interior of this truck looks cramped.

a cramped interior on a chevy full size would be perfect for me. i think it's too damn big in there.

outfitted the truck with a 4-in. lift and gave them room to fit 20-in. BBS wheels wrapped in 35-in. Goodyear Wrangler tires, the largest tires they could fit on the truck without a bigger lift. Behind that suspension is, essentially, a Cadillac Escalade drivetrain that's more AWD than 4WD.

wakeboarderdave1, i couldnt get those pictures to post up for some reason.. im not a fan of the new fronts, i prefer the older ones like this:

ehh... not really into that much at all.

However I love the look of the new silverados with a lift. This one is by far the best looking truck I think I've ever seen in my life.

This one that jonyb posted in the other thread is probably one of the best looking trucks I have seen ever.

I like the 05-07/Classics the most, but I'll take the warranty over preferred aesthetics.

That ZR2 is nasty looking - not a fan.

jt09, my '08 Silverado feels tiny inside with me being 6'4". The damn center console is wearing a hole in my leg. Definitely going back to a Superduty soon.

The interior in that ZR2 is the same as my '08 GMC. I don't feel cramped in it, but it's definitely not as roomy as a Ford.

So after saying I felt cramped in my Silverado, I went and bought a G-Class. Really cramped, but soooooo sweet. It's already muddy. Very Happy <---Big smile.

The newest style looks pretty good if it's done right.....

But the Chevy's, not so much.

About the concept, look at all the other concept crap that GM puts out. How many of them really made it to the street, and if they did, how much different were they then the concept? The one that disappointed me the most was the 427 standard cab that was lowered with big bumpers and big wheels. It never made it.... I'm gonna guess that this one won't either, and if it does, it'll be $65K +

They are actually a tailgate guard and for aerodynamics the trucks actually get 1 mpg better with that on there.

On the 08 GMC? Those are 22X12's. Lifted trucks need to be wider, not just taller. Nothing pisses me off more than to see a truck that's 6-8" higher and the wheels are just as narrow as the OEM ones, and then have no lip whatsoever. When I decided on wheels I wanted something with a deep lip and flat spokes. Those are Ion Forged Terminator's. The rear wheels had 2" billet spacers on them also. The lift on the truck gave it a 2" wider track width on the front, so it's only right to make the rear wheels have the same track width, or just a little narrower like it is from the factory.

The half-ton tailgate guards are huge. The 3/4 and 1-ton trucks have lighter-duty guards. Don't ask me why.

I'd like it if it didn't have the black fornt and back ends. It should be all one color.

Nice trucks, but I'm not a huge fan of the superwide rims with extra backspacing. It just reminds me of the trucks people used to drive when I was in high school. No offense, it's just a style issue. I like wider wheels with big back spacing on sports cars, not lifted trucks.
