My dad has been looking into air nautiques. He said he'd ither buy the 02 air or the 03 air 206.Isnt the 206 the slalom hull?If it is what kind of wake will it have with the tanks put in.Also how much are the 206's running in price?I told him if we where to get a 206 it would have to be the Team ed.Which is going to run more money but its worth it considering you dont have to add everything in. I told him to get the 216 or the 210 but he said that the hulls arnt good enough for him to slalom ski so the 206 if prob our best bet.So if anyone has the price of the 206 team or any other of the editions or any info on the boat like wake and if its worth it your input would be helpful... Thanks

I have the 216. It throws a nice wake when weighted for wakeboarding and it also has a pretty nice slalom wake. Pretty much an all-around boat. I have no complaints as of yet. We paid 34 g's out the door with pp, composite platform, depthfinder, board racks and tandem trailer..

The Ski 206, Air 206, Sport 216 & Air 216 are all built on the same hull, the TSC2 hull. The only difference is that the 216's are 1 foot longer and about 300 pounds heavier.

The TSC2 hull was primarily designed as a slalom ski hull that would respond well to ballast (at least that's what their website says). I also belive that it was developed in a large part by Andy Mapple, at least I think Nautique said he did most of the testing. Andy is a slalom legend, so any of the above boats should fit your dad's slalom needs.

The 206 will throw a nice shapped wake with a bit of weight and will be perfect for slalom. If you weight it down with stock ballast and maybe a couple more sacs, then it'll be great. Direct drives compare closely with V-drives when equally weighted (total boat weight + ballast). V-drives just start with all their weight in the back whereas DD's have it centered. The main benefit when weighted down on either boat is that the V-drives can usuall have all their weight hidden versus DD's all over the boat. V-drives also tend to be larger, so they can usually handle more weight without swamping, thus giving bigger wakes. The 206 is a nice boat and will serve all disciplines well - enjoy!
