"THE" OWC

Does it tickle anyone elses pickle the wrong way when people call OWC, The OWC. "Where you going?" "The OWC". Ahhhh drives me absolutely bonkers. "Team Hyperlite is back at THE OWC." Nooooo they are back at OWC. It's like saying, "Let's goto The Islands of Adventure or the Universal or the Rixen or the McCormicks or the TSR". Ok Rant over Laughing

That would be perfectly acceptable in SoCal. We like to add "The" in front of lots of things.

People in general are retarded. They add "the" intermittently where ever they please. My lady lives in San Francisco where you can ride BART (like the subway) but not ride The BART. But at the same time you can live in The Marina district, but can not live in Marina District. Make up your goddamn mind!!

Stephan, hahaha so I am not the only one that comes one brain wave from seizing because of this. THE owc is really THE only one that gets me but I have seriously heard people say The Rixen. How can they think that sounds normal. Since we are being honest, how about when someone says "I want to learn how to raley or how to tantrum" instead of doing a raley or doing a tantrum.

You know what else grinds my gears?!?

People that say, "When do you want to go boarding?" when clearly the appropriate terminology should read, "When do you want to go water dancing on your shred stick?"

As for the raley/tantrum comment, you just need to look them square in the eyes, turn around and walk away. Head shakes are welcome.

Yeah, really. I just finished some of the wakeboarding recently and took a trip to the Wal-Mart. I went to get some of the groceries and ran into some of the cable rats and they were talking about the OWC and how they were doing the S to the blind. It's like they're the village idiots or something.

Haha yeah that bugs me. did you guys catch the slingshot vid by mckee posted on Alliance? he was reviewing the boards in some awesome character and kept saying things like "you gotta talk about the flex" and "the super moves that these guys are doing". That video is hilarious go find it!
