Yes I haven't been around at all. Been f*@king busy.
And yes, we got that Prius. It's not really all that bad, it's an appliance and it does it's job.
More importantly, I got a new toy. I flew down to Ontario Saturday and picked it up. Rode it all over OC/LA that day then rode it home Sunday. Fing awesome is not a strong enough word to describe it.

Prius? Ehh, of all people I figured you would realize the errors of these things and pick up a TDI or something before going trendster hippy on us.

The Prius is a lease takeover to help out a buddy who is being transferred out of country and can't take it with him.
The FJR is to help out ME.

You should totally put Pimpin's AMG wheels on your Prius.

Is the boyfriend sad that you got rid of the Miata? Did he enjoy the "Ride" all the way back from LA?

Good point... I guess I intended yuppie. Hard start this morning. I tend to use hipster as a term for the Midtown Sacramento crowd which can be identified with their skinny jeans, tattoos and fixed geared bikes.

Sick man. I've always been a fan of those Yamaha sport bikes. I looked at an R6 for a long time.

Good to see you're still alive and kicking! Nice bike. I agree about the color...very nice. I miss my bike.
Someday I'll get one again, once the kids are older and my wife and I can leave them home so we can take a ride together.

Prius?? Chavez...shaking my head
My sister in law has one and she always used to tell us how much money she saves in gas. She doesn't tell us anymore because my response was always, "you can't put a price on your dignity".
The bike gives you some points for sure, but the Prius puts you so far in the hole you can't see the light. Is there any sort of 5 step program Chavez can take?

TnR6Rida, yeah, the weird thing is when I was ready to buy a bike my tastes changed slightly and I went with a naked sport instead (Suzuki SV650). Now I wish I would have done it earlier.

Nice - please tell me it has factory cruise control...
I used to ride an FJ years back - 1990 I think......I never kept bikes more than a year or two back then...
I was looking at one of these last weekend... it would be a second bike for me ...

Good thing for my wallet the wife didn't like it - too big she said....
To that I replied never complain about a soar arss again then... she just smiled....

J_DOGG, turn away from the Dark side my friend.
While they are smooth, have great balance, ride great. They are evil.
Chavez's bike is about as far into Sport Touring as I would like. But I've always like the looks of those bikes.

The Goldies are smooth for sure, but you might have to buy a 97 Cadillac Eldorado and get an AARP card to accompany it.
It doesn't have active cruise, but it does have a throttle lock (Vista Cruise) which works quite well. I used the hell out of it on the superslab ride home.
As for the Prius... Guys, I'm doing one of my best friends a huge solid. He works for DHS, and is being assigned for (at least) 2 years to Aruba (I know life sucks for him). Anyhow, he cannot take the Prius with him as it is a lease, so he is going to get a TJ and use that while on the island. I will use the washing mach... err... Prius as my bad weather car/beater for a few years, then hand the keys back to Yota. At that time we might get a E-Benz, a 5-Bimmer, or just stay on the less expensive end and get a TDI Audi/VW. When the time comes I'll cross that bridge.
The FJR is going to be my DD as much as I can help it. It's a 05 ABS model, and literally has nothing wrong with it. In fact, it still is under warranty for another 6 months. I plan on using it every chance I possibly can, and already have a few multi-day trips in mind, along with a healthy dose of backroad maps for the Sierra foothills and beyond. I am also working on getting a decent GPS solution that isn't Zumo550/660 expensive.
And no Kyle, I haven't taken it off any sweet jumps... yet.

At least it's blue.
Icy Hot Chavez, what a photo the Miata and Prius would have made backed in (at opposing 45 degree angles) adjacent parking spaces at the forest preserve!

We call them fart cans around here.... they sound absurd and should be illegal IMO.
The funny thing is they put them on just about any type of car they happen to be driving at the time with no rhyme or reason to it...
"They" meaning wanksters and gangster of all race and creed.
I also could never figure out why the need for a tail fin on front wheel drive cars?????? I asked a dude once and he just looked at me with no response...
I think he thought (correctly) that I was mocking him... chooch!!!!!
Vaya douchbags!!!!!
