i cant stay on the wake.
i ease up to the wake TS, virtually no momentum, and when i get to the top, i drop my back hand and shove my rear foot towards the shore, but i cant ever stay on, i always end up drifting inside the wake and cant sustain the "grind"
any tips? _________________

make sure you keep your weight even on both feet. If you're leaning on your front foot like a snowboard you will gravitate toward the middle. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

Can you do the slide in between the wakes without moving side to side? Can you do it and move the other direction? Practice it at around 13-14 mph there and get it so you can move left, right, or stay in the middle while in the slide. Once you do that, you'll be able to do it on the wake just fine.
Also, it's called a frontside boardslide. When you're referring to slides, we take the names from skateboarding. Frontside because you approach the wake or "rail" facing it, and boardslide because your nose is going over the wake. If your tail goes over the wake, it's a lipslide. |

Practice super slow behind the boat first, so you get the feel of the slide, and remember to keep the weight even and on your heels, you don't want to catch that front edge. If you have middle fins, take them off, it makes it much easier.
Once you've mastered between the wakes, try it on the wake, start again at slower speeds and literally hop up, don't try to hold it for long periods to start just a few seconds whilst you get used to balancing it there, then try to make it longer and longer.
With this one, I found it's just all about practice, practice, practice and learning to balance yourself evenly.
One piece of advice though - don't do it on super choppy water!! Made that mistake myself, caught the front edge - let's just say one of the face plants from hell! _________________ Suck it up and get hardcore! |

Practice riding in the cuffed position, and get used to controlling that full backslide. Slow a bit and make sure you have very smooth water since in full cuff you can't see what's coming _________________
