Alright so I'm not sure how common my problem is, but It's not the usual "I have no balls help" Laughing . I charge the wake no problem (fear def. isn't my problem here) and i can get good distance on it... I just can't stick the landing. I usually fall over my toes.. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem toeside. Everytime I jump toeside I end up doing a 1/4 rol and digging the board in the water. I've started working on smaller jump to see if I can get the technique down but it's just not working.

My buddy told me that I tend to hold the rope really high up when carving toeside. He's thinking maybe if I try to get it lower around my waiste it might help. gonna try this tomorrow and report back.

Try really keeping the handle close to your lead hip.

dont bend at the waist. dont let your arms out on the approach and dring the pop air and land try to keep the handle at your waist. the second i started doing those things i got it first try everytime and toeside is no longer nuisacnce like it used to be. it brings your riding to a whole new level when you can do tricks non stop on both sides of the wake.

Prizzy, Been having trouble too, Ive been working on not bending at the waist but i think i tend to let the handle go wild when landing, good tips i'll keep them in mind.

Yeah I went out today. I found that keep the handle by the hip helped with the jumps. It just felt better and I wasn't leaning so hard on the line. deffinatly helped to hold the rope down at the waist. I still didn't W2W toeside. But I got some good jumps in.

I think my problem is the exact same as Enygma's because I feel like I'm leaning very hard on the line. I'm gonna try and get my switch riding perfected before I get my toeside but I'll remember to not bend at the waist and to keep the handle low. Thanks guys!!

I have this problem when I start getting tired because I get lazy with form. It feels awkward at first but arching your back and pointing your chest to the sky is what helps me. When you pull that handle to your waist, pull harder with your lead hand and that will dig your edge in harder at the wake and help hold your position in the air. Also, if you go real big on your TS, it helps to drop the handle with your tail hand and turn away from the boat to absorb with your knees. (in my experience anyway)

As a former heelside hero, it was all in standing up tall, pointing my chest up to the sky, and really pushing the rope to my hip when I let off of the wake in the air.

Remember, your body wants to untwist on your toeside, you resist this twist by forcing the handle to your hip.

As well, I was bending at the waist...I had whats called a "lightening bolt" position. Stand tall! If you dont stand tall, the bend will continue through the jump, so that when you land, you end up with your weight shifted into the nose of the board. When you stand tall, your weight is more in the middle of the board.

Upon landing, you should be edging as hard if not harder than when you left the wake...keeping the board pointed in the same direction you were is crucial.

As well, just be brave! I was nervous at first to really let loose and go for it standing tall as it feels like you have less control when standing tall, but once you land it a few times, its a Idea moment.

Went out yesterday and was just a foot short of W2W...which sucks. seems like that's the worst place to land. Or at least the hardest place, it throws you all over. Anyways, I'm getting clsoer and getting some good air. W2W heelside just fells natural now. It's so easy, I don't know how I couldn't do it before.

Enygma, nice work, we all agree casing the wake is the worst. You're well on your way, but keep working on duplicating your HS approach, and you'll get it.

One more thing...when you start getting tired, take a break. I figured out that when I got tired, I would start going back to old positions and habits because they were easier on the body (such as hunching over on toeside).

It takes a bit of energy and strength to stand tall and keep positions. Rest, recoup, hit it again.

Thanks. Figured I would update on this topic.

Installed a tower on the boat finally. And went out for the very frist run on it this weekend. Needed to re learn my heelside W2W and I started overshooting by a few feet and landing in the flats. Well I shouldn't say re-learn, but instead, I had to learn to find the right spot so as to W2W. Also started working on getting a lot more pop rather then relying on speed to hop the wake. And it's deffinatly going great heelside. throwing a few grabs here and there.

As for toeside, I'm VERY glad to report that I landed a few W2W toeside. Granted they were pretty scetchy feeling and I had to drop my back hand every time to maintain my balance. The main thing I needed to get over was the awkward body position and simply being scared of charging the wake head on. Anyways. I did it. And according to my buddies on the boat. My toeside jumps are a little higher then my heelside. So I know I'm popping right. So excited about this. After I stick a few more of those I'm going to start jumping switch. I can already ride and carve pretty good.

Probably only gonna get 1 or 2 more days this season as the forcast is looking pretty gloomy after this week.

Switch TS is killing me right now. I can't get myself to dig in that edge, and usually go out over the front. Agh... I'll get it, but I'm becoming the master of butt checks and self enemas.

What really helped me get down TS W2W was cutting out hard, waiting for the boat to pull me back towards center and really concentrating on turning my chest and shoulders towards the back of the boat.

Never thought I'd say it but its almost gotten to the point where TS W2W is getting easier than HS. Shocked

Also, managed to case the wake on a SWITCH TS W2W last week. That was fun. Mr. Green
