Ok, so iv been wakeboarding a total of maybe 5 or 6 times. Just went out yesterday and it was choppy as hell since i have to wakeboard in the intercoastal and it was kinda stormy. Not to mention i fractured my little toe on sat but i still boarded on it(thats how much i love wakeboarding)
I can ollie, and jump one wake like butter, just curious as to what i should try next i.e. w2w, more surface tricks, ollie tricks or just keep working on what i can already do?
Thanks a bunch _________________ mounger25 wrote:

I'm by no means a pro, but I would try to progress like this:
1. 1 wake, heelside
2. 1 wake, toeside
3. w2w, heelside
4. w2w, toeside
5. Learn to ride switch behind the boat & in the flats.
6. 1 wake, toeside 180
7. 1 wake, heelside 180
Honestly, the best thing I did, just to get some kind of idea how to progress, was to buy the DVD series "The Book". It's not going to make you better overnight, but its going to guide you as you progress. It also seems to teach a good foundation of fundamentals, that will be important later.
You can pretty much Bubb Rubb around doing ollies all the time. And I'm sure they have SOME use for wake jumping, but they seem to be primarily a surface trick to me. Maybe if you get really good at them, they will help you to pop off the wake later? Anyone have any thoughts on ollies and their correlation to pop? |

Ollie pops off the wake have helped me quite a bit this summer. Let's you go bigger, but keep your jumps wake to wake instead of the hard landings in the flats.
Definitely switch riding for progression. Lots of practice with slides will help you down the road with board control. Surface spins and ollie spins will will help with the wake to wake tricks also, with considerably less hard falls IMO. _________________

Right, but landing in the flats sure does look DOPE!
Funny thing was, I thought I was going bigger than ever behind my buddies x45. Then I watched the videos and I was flat as a pancake. :/
More pop please? |

More bend in the knees and more extension on the wake. I suck at it, but one of my riding buddies has it down packed. Maybe he'll chime in. He's a good 3' to 5' higher wake to wake than me. I'm much better at landing on my back in the flats. _________________
