Whens a good time to remove those fins? After which point of having the ability to do tricks? Ive started w2w pretty easily im sure this next time out this weekend ill have it down. Im curious if its going to make it easier without the middle fins, and open my world to a new horizon of surface tricks? I just bought a 2009 Ronix Mana board, and im stoked about using it this weekend. |

Really, if you're edging right, it will be almost no difference. Sure, it will make surface tricks a little easier. So really, whenever you would want is a fine time.
Just my 2 cents |

you should be able to snap the fins outta the water and do surface tricks with those tiny fins anyways... if you have good technique it wouldnt affect you that much. however i do feel they keep you legit when you are learning w2w spins becuase it is easier to catch an edge or slam with fins on making you do the trick right instead of cheating it. _________________

| I took mine off very shortly after getting my board. I figured that my fins were so short that they had no effect anyhow, so I took them off. I was then able to do surface 180s with no issues and the board felt just as solid. Ofcourse, I had tiny fins. I am sure it would make a huge difference if you were use to longer fins. |

I would def recommend takin them fins out and giving it a shot. I did about a month ago and I love it without them. I feel so much better out on the water. Took a set or two to get use to maybe even 3 but well worth it. I had to slow the boat down a little bit haha. It feels real slippery at first but u will get it. _________________

For anyone else reading this. When learning edge control, riding finless will help you advance and avoid cheating. So even if you end up riding with fins, doing a few sets finless and working on your board control will really help you.
Personally I like finless at all times |

Riding with fins or witouth them doesnt make any difference, riding with them is not cheating, and without them isnt any better.
At your Kai Ronix board you cant even really put of the fins, the center fins only help with a flat board, so while edging they dont work anyway
And how do you want to remove those molded in fins? _________________

I didn't say riding with fins is cheating. I said riding finless will help you not to cheat when learning edge control. There is a big difference having the center fins or not to a beginner rider. Having them out will force board control sooner than having them in IMHO. |

| I have been out on the water with and without fins, fins help so much for control and for edging when you want to get that big air. the fins will give you a harder edge with more effort but they also add to harder falls if the board goes side ways at all. there is a reason why the pros and higher end board have four fins on both sides, they do help you a lot |

Maybe not for cable boarding
I noticed a huge difference taking the fins off my board.
I don't seem to catch an edge as often so my crashes aren't as often and aren't as bad. _________________ Need riders in the Fort Collins, CO Area! |

Having them out will force board control sooner than having them in IMHO. | Not entirely true. Both my mom and one of my buddies can't edge the board for the life of them. In my moms case she cant even get over the wake. She tries to simply turn the board, as you would with a surface trick. Then when she hits the peak of the wake her board turns sideways and she face plants 100% of the time.
In her case it is beneficialy to put a large center fin on in order to keep the board from sliding out on her, till she understands edging controls. I've tried to explain to her numerous times, but it's just not clicking. it's not like she wants to be pro or anything anyways. So for the fun facter I put the fins on for her.
Me personally I leave a .7 inch center fin on. Mostly because the board is used by about 6 different people and only 2 of us cant properly edge. So the smaller center fins allow me to still do surface tricks but make it so I'm not changing fins for every different rider, cept my mother of course. |

When i am cableboarding, witouth fins, and then i mean a complete flatboard, so no fins....
Its pretty hard to get the flickaway ect for inverts...
Moled in fins? Just get a kicker and shave then! _________________
