I have been coming close on landing my raleys about 1 out of every 4 times and same thing with my healside frontside 3's. I've heard that shortening the rope when first learning these tricks is the way to go about it. Was wondering if there is any truth to that and what some of you guys think.

Thanks

For a raley, I think it's a bad idea, but I think you'd get a lot of mixed opinions about the 3. I personally don't like to change anything about my setup unless I have to or plan to keep it that way. Reason being, if you're trying a 3, you shouldn't have any problem going wake to wake, and if you're trying a raley, you shouldn't have any problem landing in the flats, so why get out of your sweet spot to try something new. That's just my .02, but I can see, like I said, some opposition on the 3.

If you can't clear the wake shorten the rope until you can.

Hmmm...Im with Christo. I used to shorten the rope for w2w last year when I started riding again, but in my case I think it hurt more than helped.

Now when I try new stuff, I leave it where it is.

I almost feel once you land w2w, anything you do after that has nothing to do so much with being able to go w2w, but more execution of the new trick.

I maybe right or wrong, but thats whats working for me.
