You dont name a wakeboard boat, in my opinion. Now, everyone does what they want so I don't want to start a war about naming a wakeboard boat _________________ Got premier? |

Why NOT name a boat ? A boat is a boat, even if it is a wakeboard boat. Boats have always had names, why break the tradition ?
That being said... I did not name mine either, son opposed to it. Maybe it is a generation thing |

Wake board boats don't get names. Leave them alone. You'll only look like a tool if you actually name your boat. Leave it sweet and simple.. ie Super Air, etc. _________________ I'm Tired and lazy, but mostly lazy. |

"Boats" have not always had names.
Compared to a ship, a boat is a small thing. Life boats on ships do not have names, for example. Also, water taxis rarely have names, if ever. |

| If you don't care what others think, then name your boat and have a good time with it. If you do care what others think, don't name it. I personally call mine BABY. But i did not write it on it. I only call it BABY when I talk to it. And, no it does not talk back. |

If it were mine I wouldn't put a name on it... Call it whatever you want, but don't put it on the boat. _________________ "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." - Benjamin Franklin

Personally I would never name a wakeboard boat, but if you really insist then I would suggest, "Pimp ride" because you know all the ladies are going to want to take a spin. _________________ B-town crew |

No name required..... it's a Team Edition, plain and simple....
Are you in the Ocean?
Does the coastguard need to regularly need to to find you lost at sea?
If you answered NO to these questions you don't need a name for your boat. Boat names are gay on anything less than a 30 foot sail boat. IMO
Anti-shoobies- They are only over priced if you can't afford one, the cost of mine seams reasonable to me, based on everything the boat has to offer. _________________ PEACE

[quote="Breezer"] If you do care what others think, don't name it.
If you do care what other people think...then stop giving a s#!+ what they think. It's YOUR monthly payment. And when they think your being a dick about how you constantly ask them to clean the boat, tell 'em they gotta wax it too.

This is my opinion, so take it for what it's worth, which is not much. But I will give you a much more valid reason why instead of just saying "it's gay."
Personally, I wouldn't name it because it is a new boat and you may want to trade it in or sell it in a few years. A few years of normal use on the lake in the harsh sun will cause the gelcoat (or paint depending upon the boat) to fade.
When 5 or 10 years roll around and someone else goes to buy the boat, they will think to themselves "Man, I like this boat but I HATE that stupid ass name. I wish they would have left the original stickers on." If the guy is smart he'll point that out to you and try to get you to reduce your price because he knows that if you pull off that big sticker that says "Chick Magnet" off the back it will not be as faded as the rest of the boat. This will in turn create a bunch of work for him. Also, if you've ever priced any stickers from a Nautique dealer, they ain't cheap, so he is also out of some coin which he will gladly point out to you in order for you to reduce your price.
But if you don't plan on ever selling it, do what you want. Screw everybody else. They aren't making the payments, you are.
Personally, I am naming my boat but only because 1) it is paid for, 2) I am keeping it forever and 3) because it is rebuilt and customized. And by customized I don't mean a nice stereo system. Me and a buddy put so much time and work and $$$ into it that I'll never get rid of it. It is an '83 SN 2001 which was taken down to the bare hull. We put new stringers in it (going from a dual beam system to a quadra beam system), new floor (much stronger than original factory), new flotation foam, all new wiring, new dash setup, new switches, new bilge, added a depth finder, rebuilt motor (that was bored out by Reher-Morrison), lots of engine work, new Edelbrok Performer intake mainfold, new upholstery, new stripe painted with Imron and the entire top of the boat hull was painted using Imron. the windshield frame was painted white as was all the vents, windows were tinted, the hull was/is being buffed out, the new carpet should be in by this weekend.
There is probably a million other things we've done, I just can't remember it. No ballast system because we opted to go with just lead. There's not much space between the hull and the floor to put in a ballast system, so lead sounded like a better idea.
Later this summer, I will build my tower and do the stereo. I also plan to get some Mexican dingleberry fringe for the windshield and maybe some spoke Caddy hubcaps and curb feelers for the trailer. I also need to find some chrome trucker girls for the dash, the mud flaps, and the stern. If anybody knows where I can get some of this stuff, let me know. This winter I will buy some new gauges and wire them in. Probably build some bazooka tubes too.
Man, I can't wait to be finished... |
