fins on or off?

Hey Guys!! Just wondering if I should keep my fins on our off? What would be the pro's of taking them off? Thanks!

What kind of board do you ride on? I would say take them off, but that's just personal preference. It will be much easier to perform surface tricks with the fins off and it will give you a better sense for edging. The board may feel a little loose at first, but you'll get used to it.

i rode with them on thinking i wouldn't be able to control it
but then i took them off and after about 20 minutes of riding like that, i do much better.
Surface tricks are much easier to do, and any landing or surface trick that might go wrong, doesnt hurt as bad because the board doesnt catch on the fins, so crashes don't hurt near as bad, and crashes seem to be less common.

I like it a lot. Its a lot more maneuverable and much more forgiving.

and i've ridden a Ronix Vault 139 like this, and my Obrien Clutch 137 like this and love the fins off on both boards

I'd say take it off and try it. I did and loved not having them. If you don't like it, put them back on.

I vote fins off too! When I first took them off, my board felt really fast and squirly espicially as it has short, shallow moulded in fins on the sides. But once you get uesd to it, it's far easier to learn surface tricks.

I put about a .7 inch fin in the middle. It gives a little more stability for the newer riders that I go with.

Take them off. At first it feels very weird but once you get used to it you wont want to put them back on. Pretty much forces you to learn how to use your edges properly.

fins off is much better. IMO you can have more balance without them.
