Long as hell story.....short.

Trying to avoid going through a formal hearing with the planning commission on my new garage. If the Zoning Admin approves it, I'm good to go.

I need to be able to draw what my shop is going to look like on the aerial shot of my lot. TO SCALE! I can't do that, I have no idea how to do that.

I have graphic images of my lot plat from the City's GIS with measurements. But I can't superimpose a 50'x40' shop onto it with scale.
She is basically seeing how much of my backyard it takes up. I'm allowed 25% of my backyard sq/footage. Which conservatively comes out to about 2,200 ft
(I rounded WAY down). My lot is 210' long, and 100' wide. About half is house and front yard. Which would leave 10,000 in the back yard.

Can anyone superimpose TO SCALE a 50' long by 40' wide rectangle onto the picture below?
The 50' long will be from side of the yard to side (east to west). The 40' wide is from the front to back (north to south) I have to be at least 10' inside of
each line of the property. So I can't butt it up to the edge. I'm trying to put it at the South East corner (bottom right).

MY LOT is #37, near the corner. I have to leave the picture huge so whomever does this can send it to me still in the high res size. I have to fax it back.
I would greatly appreciate it.

We don't get down there too often, but I'll keep that in mind. Hope you get your approval.

It's been a slow day at the office. I needed a distraction from surfing anyways. Laughing

If I may make one suggestion.. I would move the lettering "purposed area" to the bottom right so it is mainly in the adjacent lot. I would also try and make the numbering as small as possible, and maybe add it to the interior of the rectangle. The goal of the picture is to make the shop appear as small as possible on the lot, so the less you have on there, the better. The dimensioning makes the shop appear bigger than it is.

Oh I'm glad someone did it, I'm Caltrans'd out today Laughing

I have to say, you architects should know to make the writing small enough for it to be illegible. More free work for the client when the contractor misses the note while bidding Wink
