Personally i feel learned a scarcrow first, then a frontroll. I think the crow is way easier. But for both of them the key is to wait for a good pop off the wake before you initiate the roll. The tricks should start simmilarly. Take a good hard progressive cut at the wake, and make sure you are off the wake, then look up and over your front shoulder (right if goofey, left if regular) this will cause your back shoulder to drop and you will feel yourself rotating over. For a front roll i suggest trying to keep the handle near your front hip to keep form rotating like a scarecrow. For the crow just let go with your front hand (right if goofey, left if regular) and it will spin the 180 naturally. Once you spot the water just stomp the landing. For a front roll i suggest doing big toeside wake jumps into the flats to practice the landing. And for the crow, practice big 180's into the flats. _________________ UCSB Waterski Team |
