I've read a lot of posts on here and I see a lot of the things I need to work on posted here already. But with that said, I feel like I'm losing my balance when I come off the wake if I dig my heels in too hard. Here's video of last weekend.

Sorry about the low res. Lost some in the youtube upload.

I'm open to suggestions

Thanks

You need to spend some time working on your cutting form! You are turning the board not getting on edge! I recommend that you buy the instructional DVD called "The Book". It will teach you how to make a proper cut using your edge so that you will have the speed to clear the wake. Just my opinion. Good Luck

First and formost-FIRE you cameraman/woman.
Second-Fire your driver.

Not Once in the first video did I see the boat holding a steady speed.

Also you need to work on your progressive edge.

I am no expert, but I don't think you are hitting the wake at the right angle, which would be due to your cutting technique.

First and FOREMOST. SPeed the boat up man! All that white wash is not helping you out whatsoever. Also with a little bit of speed the wakes noarrower become steeper and a touch harder allowing more pop. work on your edge technique, dont youse your legs use your heels. stand tall at the wake and keep the handle down. Take some lessons from the trumpman, camera man, driver. your fired!

You're having the same problem I've been working on the last 4-5 times out. It has a lot to do with edging, I see the main problem is your cut out on your toes, you are leaning way over forward so that when you go to cut back in on your heels you are way out of shape. In effect you are turning your board and not smoothly rolling from edge to edge. I got "The Book" dvd series about a month ago, and have basically started over learning my edging technique, kind of frustrating to see what I'd been doing wrong all this time, but now that I am back up to HS W2W they are much more controlled, and landing a much higher percentage of jumps.

Also you are not cutting at the wake hard enough, look at the spray on your HS cut outs, then compare to the spray on your cut to the wake. I deal with a washy i/o wake you really have to charge it to decent pop. Also, have the people with you sit in the bow/middle seats, and trim the motor up just a touch, it will help with the wake.

JeffreyCH, is right. Your TS edge is a little awkward. The "Ready" position helps so that you arn't all twisted up whe you switch edges. Just come off TS edge and ride on a flat board until the boat starts to pull you in (remember to bend your knees) and you'll be in the correct position.

Hey all, thanks for all the advice. I started on the 2 min. drill in the "the Book" and had my best day so far last weekend (And oh man, am I out of shape, the edging uses a lot of leg strength). As far as the wake, I hate it too. I added some lead weights to the bow, now we are playing with the trim to get rid of the wash.

Thanks again, I've learned a lot from this site.

I forgot the video camera but my daughter caught this on her cell phone. Didn't clear the wake but I landed right on top of it. Felt like landing on concrete. I hope landing on the other side feels a little softer.[/img]

This is the first time I realized this but to see even my own photo, I had to be logged in. Huh.

Looks like you used all speed and no pop to clear the wake there. Just judging from your height off the launch.

Landing right on top of the wake almost always makes me crash. landing with the nose of my board at the top of the wake feels like cement as you said. When you land a good W2W you'll know. It just feels so nice.

True. Even if you knuckle it with your backfoot it feels pretty smooth. Even a jump to the flats is MUCH softer than casing the wake.
