Ive been working on my 360 this summer... havent landed it yet but have been damn close, and should have it within the next week or two. My 180s are pretty solid, although toeside could use a little more practice. I dont have a wakeboard boat or tower and i ride with a nylon rope but it seem to get decent air, maybe 4 - 6 feet (ill post pics). Should I continue to work on the basics a little more or am i ready for an invert?

Backside 180s and gettin your poke on and ya you could prolly move onto an invert... try learning a couple of tricks at once to vary your sets up.

I agree with Prizzy. It's good to mix it up. Falling on the same trick every time is annoying, and discouraging to me anyway.

If you go to inverts I'd go for the backroll first. It doesn't get much more straightforward than a backroll.

Yeah thats what i was thinking... The rotation of a tantrum would feel more natural for me, but a backroll is probably easier to learn? Ill probably try a tantrum and a backroll my next time out and see which one i want to learn first.

tantrum seems to be a more natural rotation, but figuring out the edge and popped were more difficult, so I went to the backroll which seemed a lot easier. To pull off the backroll, you just need to follow the instruction and trust it will happen. It doesn't get any easier than edging through the wake and looking over your back shoulder.

Nice work on the 360. I need to go back to working on them, but found that the crashes always hurt so much worse trying them than on inverts. I always got pulled off axis which lead to pain.

Glad I read that correction before I headed off to the lake. I was about to be trying some back shoulder tantrums. Laughing

personally i think a tantrum and a backroll are easier than a 360 and easier to learn too... i think that if you feel ready for an invert you should try one... i landed tantrums and backrolls and even front rolls and scarecrows before i landed a 360.

tcaseymcclure, I'm proably like you. I don't have though tricks under my belt, but I feel comfortable trying inverts. My friend is exactly opposite. He can't get over the mental block that is inverts. But, he's making decent attempts at 3s right now.

tantrums you look straight back, backrolls you look over your front shoulder

Get that toeside wake to wake solid. Ride switch a lot. Jump switch wake to wake both ways. Then switch frontside 180s. Then backside 180s regular and switch. Get all those and your spins will come much easier.

Weird, I just feel so much better on spins. Most of my invert attempts ended up in disasters/headaches and havent tried since end of last year. Im 50% on hs bs 180's, and I am ready to land a 360 soon.

Inverts just scare me for some reason Embarassed
