Hey guys, I got that 2003 moomba outback LS. it has the moomba mobius' tower and stuff on it. very tight the tower is powdercoated yellow, so i kinda want to get some yellow tower speakers. i found a lightbar for 450$ for 6 lights, 4 rear and 2 front. Now i need the stereo hookups. i asked today and everything was super expensive. the cans by themselves were 1100$ for a pair of mako cans. this sounds incredibly expensive. i wanted to get a 12" sub, amp, and some tower speakers but i didnt know the enlclosure itself was that expensive. i want good stuff in my boat but man i dont know if i can afford 4-5K for just a 2 tower and 1 sub radio system...any help or suggestions would be great...

I have a awsome system in my MOB V and i've only spent around $1,500. I built my own tower speaker boxes, each has 1 set of Rockford fosgate's. I replaced the boat speakers with RF's and put one Kicker L5 12". For amps i used Crunch, they are cheap and you dont have to worrie about screwing up a $500 amp. heres some pics of my system.

George, you should clean up the wiring on that system. That would look about ten times cleaner if the wires were hidden or in a wire looom.

wouldya, Your dealer wants $1100 for a pair of cans without speakers!!! Talk with your dealer, He may have misunderstood what your asking for. You should be able to pick up a pair of cans, with MB Quart speakers, for far less than $1100. Feel free to email or PM me if you have any questions. Good luck! Nice boat, too!

Nick,
If you are the do it yourself type, I have a set of plans, templates and complete instructions on how to build it yourself. Let me know if you are interested, I sell them for $30, you can see one view in my profile.

| Wouldya I think you got your pricing a bit wrong. The can are no where near $1100 a pair. I think that is the price for 4 of them. Give Ronnie a call at Water Ski Boats Dallas he will give you the correct quote. I believe they are around $550 a pair, but I might be a little off.

Waterski boats dallas and Auto sounds are who i talked to. they both said right around 1100 dollars for a pair of mako ind. cans, empty, in yellow. that sounded extremely expensive to me. hell there was a guy on the lake this weekend knocking like crazy with 4 tower speakers and he said he only paid 1300 for the speakers cans and lights he had.....i dont know where to call and check. i'll build them myself thats not a problem but for simplicity i'd rather find a good dealer and just let me buy them.

| I got the Mako Ind MB Quart speakers from MonsterTower for $450. Then I got Auto Sound to install them for somewhere around $500-550. Then I ended up getting them to add a 10" sub and a 5-channel amp a week later. It sounds really good now. (I have an 02 Outback LS)
