Has anybody been to Brownstone Park in CT? They have a "cable park"... I think it consists of like 2 rails and a kicker but I've never gotten a chance to ride cable since there aren't any around Boston so I thought it could be fun. Heres their fb page, any thoughts? Worth the 2hr drive?

I was working in CT last summer and checked it out one day. I went right after they got their winch. (It's not a cable, just a Grinch winch). They hadn't put in any obstacles so the only thing really there was a buoy to ollie over on my skate. Other than that, it's really just like a big family park. They were supposed to be getting a couple of rails/kickers made by Red Bull and/or Hyperlite, not sure if that ever happened.

If you have access to something to ride behind, I would rather do that than go to the park just for their wakeboard setup.

i've been there. the place is pretty cool. its a nice family atmosphere. ziplines, jumping off cliffs, blob, water tramp. i had a good time there.

as far as wakeboarding, they have a box, a small kicker, and a nice a frame. i screwed up on the a frame over the weekend and really did some damage to my leg. but anyways, yea, to hit ht esliders you need your own helmet and board, and the staff there is really nice and will give you pointers. also you get pretty hooked up if you are there to ride the sliders as far as the line to wakeboard goes. they just got 2 more winches which brings them up to 4 total. 2 grinches and 2 higher speed ones that i didnt really recognize but worked great. for 26 dollars not a bad day. i hear they are thinking about getting a sesitec system in the coming years.

let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks everybody, definitely gonna do my best to get out there one of the next few weekends. Looks like a blast!

I'd love to see them put in actual cable too, this sport needs that kind of growth spurt up here! Most people haven't even heard of wakeboarding, let alone seen or done it... I actually had to explain to someone at the boat ramp that my pylon was not a mast for a sail... ouch.

I might try to make a day trip up next week to hit this stuff up, we will see though. I kepe trying to call them to get pictures and stuff but they never respond which pisses me off, I dont want to drive 1.5 hours and pay 30$ when I have a perfectly good boat and wake in the back yard.

I feel like I need to update this forum and let everyone know that Brownstone Park has a system 2 a rail and a kicker. Rumor has it they are getting 2 more system 2s and mad new and crazy features. I had a blast there and towards the end of the season started learning how to load the line. The kids that ride there are pretty nasty and the staff is real cool.

My buddies and I wondered about that place. In the end, after checking out the website, as somebody had said, sticking to behind my Tige on the CT River looked better. Might be worth the drive though to ride a different setup. Maybe we'd get hooked. How far from Springfield roughly?

Brownstone just announced that their Rail Jam will be on May 26th this year. They installed 2 more system 2's and just picked up features from mount snow and granite gorge to float in their facility. Seems LEGIT
