Hi, i just started wakeboarding and have been 2 times so far. I have a Parks Bonifay Hyperlite Pro Model 143 which i know is too big since im 6'1 and weigh 130 lbs....I can get up everytime and slide around fairly well. But when i try to jump the wake hs the board slides forward and my body backward when i hit the wake....idk why. i can ollie, did a few wake grinds, and i did try a tantrum which was a BAADDD idea idk why i did.
any help would be great thanks.
Also im riding behind a big Sea Ray outboard fishing boat but it works... _________________ mounger25 wrote:

It probably has more to do with your edging and board control then the size of the board. I know it's easy to get carried away trying to progress, but you really need a solid foundation before trying even simple tricks. Here's a vid that may help a bit to understand edging.

Yeah i deffinatly need some practice with my progressive edges cuz i can cut out good and go from side to side but when it comes to the the hard edges thats where i need more work and the fact that i dont have any lakes near me and i have to ride pretty much in the ocean kinda its really choppy.
Are there any like heelside progressive edge drills i can do? iv seen the video about the toeside edge drill but theres no heelside one _________________ mounger25 wrote:

I'll second what has been said. Slow down and learn the basics. There are lots of videos out there for that. I'd recommend looking at getting "The Book" DVD series. Work on edging and board control drills, then start working on the progressive edge and jumping. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

Yeah thanks for those vids they look like they will help a lot and will be doing those drills this weekend. As for The Book, i will more than likely be purchasing it in the near future. Also i noticed, the wake for my boat is really washy where white water flows over the top..what can be done to reduce that? _________________ mounger25 wrote:

Its like a big Sea Ray fishing boat, outboard and it has a tower for fishing poles but i ghetto rigged up a way to put the rope from the rocket launchers for the fishing poles _________________ mounger25 wrote:

Some weight in the nose and middle will help. If it has power trim, have your driver trim up just a bit. I don't know about outboards, but that's the standard way people deal with i/o wakes. _________________

yeah it has power trim and ill have the driver (my dad) play with the trim to find the best place for it. Thanks! _________________ mounger25 wrote:

I don't know about that boat specifically, but we've had bad experience trying to trim outboards with weight added. Too much suction. Can't raise it enough to make a difference. It only puts it more on plane and you loose the ability to easily control speed. Maybe you will have better luck though. _________________

idk ill play around with the trim, weight, and different speeds and prossibly try diff rope lengths depending on outcome of other tests
Thanks _________________ mounger25 wrote:
