Hey so im looking for a new wakeboard. Ive spent most of my life on a lake and im a good slalom waterskier. ive toyed with wakeboarding a little and can do some spins and go wake to wake but my old board is some no name hyperlite and ive mostly used my friends' setups.
im a skinny guy at 6'2" 165..
some ideas i had were:
Gator Gonzales
Ronix Arcade
Ronix Mana
Ronix IBEX
LF Ennen
CWB Marius
Byerly Assault
Slingshot Response ...
To me graphics actually mean something haha: i dont want to look down at my board and be unhappy cause its plain. ive saved up enough to afford all these boards and as for boots im considering
CWB Faction / Deuce
Ronix Frank White
Some input would be nice, about the boards and boots.. if you have any other recommendations that would be great too. ive researched a ton and this is my last stop i just want some riders' feedback.
Also, i saw on evo gear some compatibility boots and boards list, but if i mix brands i shouldnt have a problem fitting any binding to any board right?
thanks a lot i would love some input, sorry for the long post |

its really just personal preference. do you like soft landings, do you like straight up pop or out into the flats, do you like a real locked in feel or kinda loose on the water? and those are just some things. just go ride and really think about how you like a board to ride, then do some research on how each board rides. or demo some boards if you can, thats really the best way to figure out what you like.
But if it were me id get the ibex because i have an old parks board right now and love it, but thats just me. |

thanks for the response...
i like soft landings, but a lot of pop too.. i like when my board is loose in the water so i can toy with surface tricks, but being a slalom skier i like edgy cuts.
ive done more research to specifically what i want and i think the SLINGSHOT RESPONSE may be calling my name...
good reviews and it seems to have what i want all in one. thing is there arent a lot of grooves and only 4 bottom fins.... is it extremely loose in the water? |

ive never ridden it, but if it says it has what you want, go for it. and i would say a 137, cause i always like shorter boards, but some people like bigger boards.
What size is the board you have now? do you like it, or do you think you should go bigger or smaller? Generally if you are sinking and its really slow on the water, you need a bigger board, and if its riding really high and you are having trouble setting a good edge, you could go smaller. |
