It doesn't matter how many times I've seen that man-tramp-stamp, it kills me every time.

see, the Mr. Cool Ice guy really has me frazzled. that's lots of thick, black ink. All that stuff wasn't done in an hour. or even probably in a day. we're looking at several sittings. that means that the guy went home and had time to think about what he was doing and stop at several different points along the way. I could see, maybe ONE mr. cool ice, like the little one on his shoulder, but the guy kept going.. wtf? doesn't this guy have even a single friend who said "dude, you need to rethink this..."

For some reason Cool Ice looks like it's done in Sharpy. If it's real, he must not be straight in the head.

I agree with cb about cover ups. Covering up a tattoo is an oxymoron. Perfection isn't the point anyhow.

My first was done in New Zealand with a chisel and comb. Far from perfect but I would never cover it up. I've only one from the states which is the cleanest looking, but it has the least significance.

As far as location, I'd have a hard time getting ink that couldn't be covered with short sleeves. Tattoos are obviously for people to see, but in my opinion not something to be forced upon others in the workplace and non-social events.

I actually know quite a few folks who have a substantial amount of art and work in white collar environments, and wearing long sleeves every day can become quite cumbersome. If you can handle the dress limitations, right on, but definitely not for me.

do not get anything tattooed on your hands until you are at least 30. Please. For your own good, just wait. a long time.

Very good advice! Most people will not have figured out their world until they get close to 30. Although tattoo's have become very common and socially acceptable, very offensive and/or too prominent displayed are still viewed as a negative thing by some. I have no tat's and don't even think about it when I see someone who does, but when I was in a position to hire and fire people for sales jobs I wouldn't have considered someone with one on hands or neck. And the guys that had them on thier arms had to keep them covered (Kinda uncomfortable in the Florida heat). Just something to think about! Almost everyone of my friends have tats,I am just a wuss and am too scared. Embarassed

Technical Infrastructure, I work in a very conservative environment, visible tattoos would not go over well here. If you have arm tattoos you have to wear long sleeves.

I have nothing against tattoos, i'm just not willing to go through the trouble of employing someone with tattoos on there hands/face/neck.

By the way, tell her congratulations, those are some of the hardest jobs to get anywhere. I work with the FBI a fair amount, have a number of connections there, and have been trying to get in for a number of years without any luck at all. It is a very exclusive club.
