|
|
I am thinking about buying a trampoline to get some dry land practice. What size is a good safe size to be using? I've seen a couple 12 and 13 footers. Are those big enough?
What is a good range to be in? Can it be too big? _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before. |

i dont think it can be too big but get sides... i would have broken bones many times without my sides and its also easier to tie a handle down to the poles that support the sides then stretching the rope accross long distances to a tree. _________________

I bought a 15' from Sams for $180. I wouldn't go much smaller. I think a 12 or 13 ft would be too small for safety. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

ive got a 12 foot w/ encloser. i find it big enough except when i dont tuck my legs in on backflips.. being 6'4'' my feet catch the back sometimes... _________________ Lake Shelbyville, IL |

ive jumped half out of the sides o a backflip once, one leg in and on leg out. lucky enough the sides brok down easy and there was no real injury to the neither region and i did have enough of a mind to lean into the tramoline on the way down to fall on the tramp and not the springs but get the sides... an extra however much it is is plenty if you dont want to screw up your season and knowing wisconsin seasons are not good ones to be wasted with a cast on an arm/fingers/broken collarbone. _________________

I wouldnt do anything smaller than 13ft. 14ft is good but the bigger the better. _________________ Random Acts Of Dumbness Will Always Be Rewarded. |

STANG KILLA SS, link? some of the tramps i looked at were outrageous.. like 500.
Do you guys use nets too? seems like you wouldn't be able to use a rope if you did. but i sure would hate to be off with the rotation on a flip or something and not land on the trampoline.. _________________ Wake Forest University |

ya and the weird thing is that i have a net going around (i feed the rope through it, tied to a light post) but the net just held me in but my shin hit the outer metal pole. Hurt but im ok, just a scratch. _________________ Lake Shelbyville, IL |

| Yeah I think mine is a 12 or 13 ft, and I can do backflips consistently without needing much room. You just have to focus on throwing the flip once you are completely off the trampoline and not before. Yesterday I hucked one too early and knew it instantly. I ended up slamming my left knee and right quad on the metal frame. Luckily nothing's broken, but it was scary as hell! I would say go bigger if you can, even though you can get by with a 12 or 13 ft diameter. |

no net, but im only doing 3s on it. no inverts. but the 14' is pretty big. youd have to get really out of shape to fly off and if you did your probly jumping too high (not realistic) any way. _________________

One on the left is a 12 foot i bought new at wal mart last october for 197. That one came with enclosure (notice the pole holding the rope) The one on the right i bought from a chick i work with for 75 bucks. The 14 foot is about 5 years older than the 12 foot and has about 3 times as much bounce... its nuts. The rope is connected to a street light that is in the parking lot next to my house. The setup works awesome!
Only thing i need now is a pad for the space between the two tramps...the 14 foot doesnt have anything over the springs so i would like some padding if i screw up a trick.. _________________ Lake Shelbyville, IL |

| the 14 foot older one is spring loaded and the 12 foot newer one is strap loaded i am guessing... springs are so much better for bounce |

the 12 foot has springs... but how it is attached to the mat is different then the 14 foot. _________________ Lake Shelbyville, IL |
