hey guys i just got into wakeboarding about a month ago. i am having a difficult time completely clearing the wake. i went out yesterday and cased it a few times. i began to wonder, is learning w2w behind a bay boat more difficult than learning behind a wakeboard boat?

not exactly sure what a bay boat is but im assuming it has a smaller wake then a reg wake boat.. however you can use this too your advantage. many people who learn with large wakes learn bad habits because it can be too easy to make it w2w without proper form. you like me on the other hand who started out on a fish and ski is and were forced to learn proper technique to go w2w and with proper technique you will find it is not all that hard to go w2w and progress... and if you do eventually get a wake boat it will be that much easier to progress your riding cause you will have been forced to learn near perfect techniques. just remember, it is possible to go w2w behind the smallest wakes.

yea a bay boat is a fishing boat that is made to go in shallow water to cast for trout and bass and other fish. it actually can put out a decent wake when we put weight in the back and adjust the trim tabs.

this is what a google image search pulled up....mine is white with a four stroke 225

honestly, Most of the boats out there aren't wakeboats, I ride behind a 22 foot FourWinns, lots of other people on non dd/vdrive boats out there riding too.

Someone find that video of byerly behind the outboard boat(it was byerly right?)

Yeah, I rode behind a bay boat for a majority of this season. You've got a big enough engine to support quite a bit of weight, and they're nicely balanced as is, so all your weight can go in the back for the most part. Keep working on it, and you'll get it.

Until you get back out there, just watch this, and let it piss you off, that's what I did.
