My first post so be gentle! Wink
I have a Monster Tower on my 200LX Stingray and want to put out some sound. I'm a little worried about the "hang" dimensions on speakers like the PRO 80 (13") and/or the PRO60 (11.5").
I'm wondering if any Monster owners have had any problems with heads banging into them and did your stock (not Monster) Bimini top fit ok under?

Also, I'm thinking of either using the Monster cans with Polk drivers or the WS PRO 60's. Would I hear much of a difference ($500 difference or I could get 2 pr for about the same $ as 1pr WS).

Last question: To do it right, must one have a subwoofer? If so, 10" or 12"?

I'm a liar, this is my final question: Special wiring needed? Such as, preformed or brand specific?

Thanks

dr

I have a Monster Tower on my boat, and added a set of dual Polk speakers to my tower for this summer.

We just got back from our first week vacation at the lake, and my stereo really impressed alot of other boat owners. My Polk speakers sounded great, but I think a lot of the credit goes to the Wetsounds ws420 equalizer that I also installed this year. The way you can control all aspects of your stereo really makes a hugh difference in the total sound.

People on the beach said they could easily hear my music while I was out in the main body of water pulling wakeboarders and tubers.

Now to the negative,...while my nephews and friends said they could hear the music while I was pulling them on skis, wakeboards, and tubes, they told me they really couldn't make out any words of the song. They could hear the "beat", but that was about it.

This has really gotten me to think about getting rid of my Polk tower speakers and replacing them with one pair of Wetsound speakers. Now if maybe this economy would just turn around I would feel free about spending a little extra cash.

Anyway the upside for Wetsounds is I think I most likely got them about 6 sales on their ws420, as everyone was sooo impressed by this unit.

Thanks for your reply and insight. That was my fear about those speakers. I think I am now leaning heavily to the PRO 60's.
