Should I leave them on or take them off? they are easy to take off, I just never see fins on wakeboards but they came with my board so I always left them on.

It's a matter of personal preference. Many boards now have some form of molded-in fins built right in to the board. Try them with and without and see which you prefer. The board I currently ride has molded in fins so I choose to ride finless.

Riding finless can be a little more difficult at first but can actually force you to learn proper edging and in turn, more solid fundamentals for later.

I am a newbie and when I got my own board I took the fins off. I noticed the difference straight away that the board had more play and I could move it round easier so I have left them off.

My friend thinks I should put them on so I can land my jumps easier but I am happy learning the hard way and I agree with GnarShredd that it's better in the long run but that it is definitely down to personal preference Very Happy

It is best to start without them so that you learn proper edging technique. Once you have that down, then you can put them back on to help out with landing jumps and tricks. If you start out using them, they become a crutch and you rely on them to help you edge rather than learning proper technique. In the end, your fundamentals will be better if you learn to ride without them.
