I nutted up and tried a few raleys this weekend, and actually I believe did everything right, except the pull down. I got layed out really well, felt like, but never pulled down, I guess I thought I would feel it more towards the end of the trick. I ended up doing a headfirst dive at 100 mph... One of the guys in the boat that can do them said that I should try to snap it back down right after I pop out, just curious if that sounded right to yall.. thanks

Depending on how much air you're getting, pull it down right when you get extended and then work it from there. The thing to do when pulling down is to push the handle straight down to the water and pull your knees in. Don't try to bend your elbows in because that won't do a thing.

Man, I wanna try one so bad, but EVERYONE says the falls are a killer. We are planning on doing the skate thing next time too.

I used to be able to do a raley before I hurt my shoulder, but now I'm afraid I'll dislocate it if I extend my arms out. Can it still be done with your elbows bent? And, what can I do to reduce line tension when I throw it back? I used to have problems holding onto the rope because of how hard I threw it. Like I said, I haven't tried it since the injury.

you have to get fully extended. a lot of people first try them and wait to do the trick once they get good pop. that just causes you not to be able to extend all the way out making it harder to bring back in
