Hello.

My name's Guillaume. I'm french and I want to put wet Sounds system in my Correct Craft 2001 by buying all on buytower.eu website.

I want to install :
# Alpine IDA-X100M source (Max Power Output: 50W x 4)
# 4x XS-650 speaker
# 1x XS-10FA subwoofer
# Double Up tower speaker (2x Pro60 + 2x MB-8 )

My questions are :
# What marine amplifier should I take for the 4 tower speaker and subwoofer
# I want to use the source amplifier for the 4 boat speaker, is it possible? Good idea?

I'm in a hurry.

I hope you will answer me.

Thanks

Guillaume

Very Happy

Answer from Omar (Wet Sound) via email :
"The best way to set that up would be:

Double Up Package- SYN2 at 2ohm Stereo with 1-MB8 & 1 Pro60 on one channel and the other MB8 & Pro60 on the other channel.

2-pair XS-650 – you could use the Alpine radio to power temporarily but it is not enough power. You should use a SYN4 wired in stereo which will give you 125w RMS @ 4ohms into each speaker.

1-XS10FAd2- this is our dual 2ohm voice coil sub that you would wire at a 8ohm impedance then use our SYN Micro bridged mono which would give you 250 RMS into the sub.

NOTE: If it is the XS10FAd4 which is the dual 4ohm then you would have to wire it up at a 8ohm impedance and you the SYN2 bridged mono which will give you about 400w to the sub but you would have to turn the gains down due to the fact 400w would exceed the peak power of the 10” sub. This should keep you safe. I am telling you about this option in case they do not have the Dual 2ohm 10”.

Thanks to him

What Omar suggested is what I'd use. They know best. I've got a Syn4 in my boat on 6 650's and it works out pretty well.

Guillaume

A couple other options to add onto what Omar suggested. You could run a SYN-6 for all the XS-650 and the XS-10FA. And you can even run another SYN-6 on the Double Up.

This would give you a ton of power and two amps.

Are you talking about 2 pairs of XS-650 as in 4 speakers or 4 pairs?

If you are talking about 2 pairs. You could run a SYN-4 on the XS-650 with 2 pairs on chs 1-2 and the sub XS-10FA D-2 in series at a 4 ohm load bridged on chs 3-4 off the same SYN-4.

So lots of options.

Hello Tim.
I would say 2 pairs of XS-650 as in 4 speakers...
I want the best with less expansive option.
Thanks a lot

If you are looking for the least expensive best power, I would look at the Alpine PDX amps to power it...you can get them on ebay cheaper then the JL Audio HD amps...but JL's are a bit better.

PDX 4.100 - 4x100 or 4x150 to run the interior 4 speakers
PDX 4.150 - 4x150 to the 4 tower speakers
PDX 2.150 - Wired to your sub configuration...

Have used these amps and they work good, stack into a small place, and seem to be efficient with power...I used the PDX4.150 (seperates) and PDX1.1000 (12 X Series ) in a former boat and they ran well and I could get them cheap online.

BTW...they have a marine versions of these amps for 40-50 more per amp but I never had a problem running non marine versions..
